Abstract:
Amino-anthraquinone dyes free from -SO3H, -COOH or -OH groups on the nucleus and which contain linked to the nucleus via O or N a hydrocarbon residue of the formula -(CH2)n-X wherein n is 1-4 and X is -C5H4N, -N(CH3)2, -NH(CH2)3NH2, -NH(CH2)2NH2, -NH(CH2)2OH, -NHCO NH2 or -NHCSNH2 are employed to dye hair. They may be prepared by reacting aminoanthraquinones which contain a reactive halogen atom, -NO2 or -OH group with suitable compounds which contain a 2 DEG or 3 DEG nitrogen and a -OH, -NH2 group or a halogen atom. The anthraquinone may be further substituted with halogen or nitro groups. In the examples: (1) 1,4 - diamino - 2 - chloro - anthraquinone is reacted with pyridine-2-ethanol; 1,4-diamino-5-nitro-anthraquinone is reacted with (2) 4-picolylamine; (3) N-b -ethoxypropanediamine-(1,3), and (4) N-b -ethoxypropanediamine-(1,3) under different conditions; and (5) 1,4-diamino - 2 - chloro - anthraquinone is reacted with N,H-b -dimethylaminoethanol.ALSO:Hair is dyed with aminoanthraquinone dyes which have no -SO3H, -COOH or -OH groups on the nucleus and which contain a hydrocarbon residue, in turn containing a 2 DEG or 3 DEG nitrogen in an aliphatic chain or a heterocyclic ring, linked with the anthraquinone nucleus via O or N. The said hydrocarbon residue preferably has the formula -(CH2)n-X in which n is 1 to 4 and X is -C5H4N, -N(CH3)2, -NH-(CH2)2-NH2, -NH(CH2)3-NH2, -NH(CH2)2-OH, -NHCONH2 or -NHCSNH2. The dyes may also contain halogen or nitro substituents. The dyes may be applied together with anionic or non-ionic washing agents as an emulsion cream and the dye compositions may further contain thickeners, perfumes, conditioners and permanent waving agents containing mercapto groups and have a pH of 8.5-9.5. Examples are given.
Abstract:
Hair is dyed with azo dyes of the formula wherein R1 and R2 are H or an alkyl or alkanol residue of 1-3 C atoms and X is a phenylene or naphthylene radical. A number of dyes are specified including 2, 21-and 4, 41-diaminoazobenzene and 4-amino-41-dimethylaminoazobenzene. The dyes may be applied singly or in admixture and/or together with known anthraquinone dyes and anionic or non-ionic washing agents. The dye composition may be in the form of an emulsion cream and adjusted to a pH of 8.5-9.5. Other specified additives are thickeners, perfumes and conditioners and permanent waving agents containing mercapto groups. Examples are given. Specifications 957,119 and 1,005,915 are referred to.
Abstract:
The invention comprises dyes of the formula wherein X is amino, or alkylamino; Y is hydrogen, amino, alkylamino, hydroxy, piperidinyl or alkylmercapto; Z is a linear or branched chain alkyl of up to 8 carbon atoms which may bear alkoxy, cyano, unsubstituted or substituted carbamoyl or carbalkoxy groups, or denotes an aralkyl radical or the propinyl group. The compounds are prepared by reacting a carboxylic hydrazide of the formula where Z11 is No2 or as Y, either with CS2 in a alkaline reacting agent, and simultaneously or subsequently reacting with an alkylating agent which yields Z, or with a mercapto formamide chloride of the formula where R1 and R2 are substituted or unsubstitute alkyl or aryl radicals or together with the nitrogen form a piperidinyl or morpholino ring, and subsequently reducing the nitro group to an amino group. The mercapto formamide chloride may be formed in situ by treating a dithiocarbamic ester of the formula with chlorinating agents.
