Abstract: Flame resistant fabrics formed with fiber blends that provide the requisite flame and thermal protection but that have improved durability. In some embodiments this is accomplished with the use of fiber blends that include relatively large percentages of FR nylon fibers in combination with cellulosic and inherently flame resistant fibers.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to flame resistant fabrics formed with inherently flame resistant fibers that provide the requisite thermal and arc protection, that have improved comfort, and that, in some embodiments, are less expensive than other fabrics formed with inherently flame resistant fibers. Improved comfort and lower cost can be achieved by predominantly locating the inherently flame resistant fibers on the front face of the fabric to impart the requisite thermal and arc protection and predominantly locating the more comfortable (and less expensive) fibers on the back face of the fabric positioned next to the wearer. In this way, overall protection of the fabric is maintained while improving comfort. Some embodiments of such fabrics may also achieve NFPA 70E PPE Category 2 protection.

Abstract: An innerduct for a cable containing one or more strip-shaped lengths of woven textile fabric configured to create a flexible, longitudinal compartment for enveloping a cable. The woven fabric comprises a plurality warp yarns and a plurality of picks of weft yarns, the weft yarns contain a repeating first weft pattern of at least one monofilament yarn and optionally at least one single-inserted multifilament yarn. The woven fabric contains an alternating pattern containing first weave zones and partial float weave zones. The warp yarns in the first weave zone pass successively over and under each adjacent weft yarn and at least a portion of the warp yarns in the partial float zone float over some adjacent weft yarns.

Abstract: According to various implementations, a flame-resistant and heat-resistant fastener chain includes a pair of left and right fastener tapes and a pair of left and right continuous fastener elements. Each fastener tape includes a facing tape side edge that faces the facing tape side edge of the other fastener tape. The left continuous fastener element is coupled to the left fastener tape adjacent the facing tape side edge of the left fastener tape and the right continuous fastener element is coupled to the right fastener tape adjacent the facing tape side edge of the right fastener tape. Each continuous fastener element includes a coiled monofilament that includes a high temperature polymer. In some implementations, the continuous fastener element includes a cord around which the coiled monofilament is wrapped.

Abstract: Flame resistant fabrics are provided that exhibit improved protection from molten metal spills, metal splatter, electric arc, and related thermal hazards illustratively including open flame and radiant heat. The flame resistant fabrics are made from a combination of cellulosic fibers and thermoplastic fibers, where the flame resistant fabric forms a char layer that does not become brittle when contacted by molten metal, metal splatter, electric arc, and related thermal hazards. By not becoming brittle the likelihood of break out of the fabric is minimized, thereby improving the level of protection to the user. As a result, the flame resistant fabric retains the desirable properties of fibers formed of organic materials in terms of comfort, weight, and durability.

Abstract: A sleeve for protecting an elongate member, including a bus-bar of a battery pack, and method of construction thereof are provided. The sleeve includes a knit wall having a circumferentially continuous outer surface extending along a longitudinal axis between opposite open ends. The knit wall is formed at least in part by multifilament flame-resistant yarn. The multifilament flame-resistant yarn is knit to form both the knit wall, and also first ribs extending lengthwise along the circumferentially continuous outer surface or second ribs extending annularly about said circumferentially continuous outer surface. An impervious, flame-resistant coating is bonded to an outer surface of the circumferentially continuous knit wall.

Abstract: A textile sleeve for routing and protecting an elongate member and method of construction thereof are provided. The sleeve has a wall with opposite edges extending lengthwise between opposite ends. The edges are configured to be wrapped about a central longitudinal axis to bound the elongate member within an enclosed cavity. The wall is formed of interlaced heat-resistant yarn with at least one hook-type fastener member along one of the edges and at least one loop-type fastener member along the other of the edges. The hook-type fastener member and the loop-type fastener member are configured to attach with one another to maintain the opposite edges in releasably fixed, overlapping relation with one another.

Abstract: A flame retardant fabric is directly woven from flame retardant viscose fiber added with inorganic silicon for covering the outside of flammable articles, wherein the flame retardant viscose fiber having denier, strength and flame retardant effect which use silicic acid as the flame retardant, and coating a layer of organic material, melamine flame retardant resin on the surface of silicic acid, and then preparing the flame retardant viscose fiber into an nano-sized particles. The flame retardant fabric has a fineness of 1.11 to 2.78 dtex, and a strength of ≥2.0 cN/dtex, which meets the production requirements of spinning, and does not need to be blended with other high-strength fibers when spinning, and the woven fabric from the flame retardant viscose fiber does not need to be flame retardant, so that the flame retardant fabric has a good flame retardant effect and saves costs through simply the production process.
