摘要: The present invention relates to knits that can be used to make rip-resistant sheer hosiery or similar garments, using a specific combination of UHMWPE fiber and stretch fiber, such as spandex. The knit has rip-resistant and anti-microbial properties. Details are provided to avoid problems with pilling and the appearance of bald spots during use. A variation of the knit is useful for activewear.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a sock including the steps of knitting the sock on a knitting machine with a first yarn, such as a cotton or polyester yarn, and a second yarn that is a silicone yarn wrapped with poly vinyl acetate (PVA) yarn. The PVA yarn substantially fully encapsulates the silicone yarn, with one PVA yarn being wrapped around the silicone yarn in a “S” twist pattern and the second PVA yarn being wrapped around the silicone yarn in a “Z” twist pattern. The sock is bathed in hot water after being knitted such that the PVA yarn dissolves and exposes the silicone yarn. The second yarn is knitted in the sock to form defined areas or patterns of silicone yarns within the sock, such as in the toe and heel areas. The resulting sock provides grip and slip-resistance properties on both the inside and outside of the sock.

摘要: A textile upper for an article of footwear includes at least one microclimate modulation structure located at one or more regions of the upper. In an embodiment, a microclimate modulation structure includes a plurality of knitted strands, the knitted strands including a first strand type and a second strand type, the first strand type having a greater thermal conductivity than the second strand type. In another embodiment, the microclimate modulation structure includes an uneven surface that includes a plurality of knitted beams and a plurality of indentations defined between the knitted beams.

摘要: A circular knitted tubular structure manufactured at low cost with use of a circular knitting machine is highly adaptable to bending due to flexibility, having tube inner and outer surfaces so soft that no abnormal noise is produced, and hence useful as a sleeve covering and thereby protecting a cable, such as an electrical wire and an optical fiber cable. The circular knitted tubular structure is formed of a fabric tape formed of circular knitted fabric having front yarn forming loops and back yarn having a higher heat shrinkage ratio than the front yarn and formed into a scrolled shape by letting the back yarn undergo heat shrinkage to have an overlap portion circumferentially overlapping 1.3 to 2.5 times. Apparatus for manufacturing the circular knitted tubular structure includes a furnace and a shape-forming jig.

摘要: A method for manufacturing a cut resistant fabric includes: supplying a polyethene yarn with a thickness of 50-225 dtex as a protective yarn through a first yarn carrier of a circular knitting machine to a feeder needle at a first selected tension; supplying simultaneously an uncoated elastane yarn with a thickness of 20-80 dtex as a first additional yarn through a second yarn carrier of the circular knitting machine to the same feeder needle at a second selected tension that is higher than the first selected tension of the protective yarn; forming a fabric from the protective yarn and the first additional yarn as single-jersey knits; and interlocking the protective yarn and the first additional yarn in each single-jersey knit of the fabric using a heat treatment step on a stenter frame.
