    摘要: A wind powered device incorporates a solar furnace and vortex generator to provide additional power and boost the efficiency of the complete system. Two concentric dome assemblies connected by a centrally located shaft are connected to a base with bearings capable of rotating the whole assembly 360.degree. about a vertical axis to allow it to turn into the wind. The two domes form a furnace, an inner dome providing insulation for a solar boiler and an exterior dome refracting the incoming sunlight onto the solar boiler. The solar boiler is located at the center of the inner dome and generates steam to drive fans positioned at the poles of the outer dome. The outer dome also functions as a wind powered rotor. Inlet vanes at the periphery of the dome are open to the atmosphere. The exterior of the dome is provided with trapezoidal or curved channels at regular distances parallel to the path of rotation. These channels effect lift by the venturi effect. They also channel the light to the center of the dome. Fans on the shaft evacuate air from the inside of the dome through openings located at the poles of the outer dome. As air is pulled through the outer dome and through the inlet vanes the outer dome will rotate. The system operates simultaneously as a solar furnace, a wind powered generator and as a vortex generator.

    摘要: The invention relates to a pump and control unit for a solar heating installation system for a water tank, particularly for a swimming pool. The system contains a solar collector, a hydraulic circuit which includes an outward-flow pipe, a return-flow pipe, a pump, a derivative-action control unit and two sensors mounted on the outward-flow pipe and on the return-flow pipe, respectively. The pump, the control unit and the two sensors are integrated into a single case. The case is provided in its top wall with a transparent opening which faces the return-flow sensor and through which said sensor can be exposed to solar radiation, such that the pump may be automatically activated during periods of sunshine, i.e., when the solar collector is heating the water returning to the tank, and stopped due to lack of sunshine.

    摘要: A method of storing thermal energy in a body which is in direct thermal contact with the surrounding earth. The energy is transferred to said ground body from heat absorbing devices, specifically solar heat absorbing devices, by circulating a liquid in a circuit incorporating a plurality of channels in the ground body and said heat absorbing devices. The thermal energy stored in the ground body is removed therefrom by means of the circulating liquid and used to control the heat of an object such as a building by circulating the heated liquid around the building in a further circuit incorporating further channels and heat emitting devices. The channels in the ground body are arranged and sized in accordance with the calculated amount of thermal energy supplied to and taken out of the ground body period such as one year. A defined surface surrounding the ground body is established at a distance from the most remote of the channels in a direction outwardly of the ground body so to reach a maximum temperature on the order of 35.degree. C. and a temperature variation during the period of energy input and output of not more than 10.degree. C.

    摘要: A control valve for a solar heating system is disclosed. The valve has a valve body which defines four chambers disposed end to end. A valve operating rod is movable axially through all four chambers uder motor control and carries a valve member for directing liquid through the valve. In one position of the valve member, incoming liquid is directed to an outlet for connection to a solar collector and liquid returning from the collector can flow through the valve body and back to the swimming pool. In the other position of the valve member, the liquid bypasses the collector and is directed back to the pool while liquid in the collector drains back into the valve body through the outlet and is removed by suction from a drain-down chamber in the valve body.

    摘要: An improved electromagnetic radiation collector system for concentrating electromagnetic radiation emitted from a source to a collecting mechanism. The radiation collector system includes a plurality of primary reflectors which are moveably actuated responsive to a displacement of the electromagnetic radiation source. The primary reflector members reflect and concentrate the source emitted radiation to a secondary reflector which is positionally located substantially at the focal length of the displaceable primary reflector members or plates. The secondary reflector is particularly contoured and reflectively coated to reflect the initially concentrated reflected radiation to a substantially line focus. The secondary reflector may be stationary or formed of a plurality of rotatable reflecting members. Radiation reflected from the secondary reflector is focused upon a line collector mechanism or heating a fluid medium passing therethrough. Additionally, the second reflector may reflect radiation to a light redirecting mechanism having an absorbing face substantially located along the focus line of the secondary reflector elements.

Solar energy is absorbed and converted to thermal energy by means of at least two systems, operating in different temperature ranges, for circulating a primary fluid heat transfer medium through separate collector sections of a solar receiver to recover solar heat and through separate output heat exchangers to supply heat to a second heat transfer medium functioning as a working medium, with heat storage means being associated with each system for the purpose of satisfying the heat requirements of the working fluid and also to prevent cooling down of the collector during the time that little or no solar radiation is available.

    摘要: A solid state temperature regulator is provided for a solar heating system for use in conjunction with a swimming pool, or the like. The solar swimming pool heating system includes the usual components, namely, a pump, a filter, and a collector, and in which the pump serves to circulate the water from the pool through the filter and collector and back into the pool. The system also includes additional components, namely, temperature sensors for the collector and for the circulated pool water, appropriate valves, and a solid state control circuit. The solid state control circuit responds to predetermined temperature differences sensed by the sensors to cause the pool water to be circulated through the collector so long as the collector is at a higher temperature than the circulated pool water, and which causes the circulated pool water to by-pass the collector when the temperature of the collector drops below the temperature of the circulated pool water. The control circuit also has a high temperature cut-off control which activates the valves to cause the circulated pool water to by-pass the collector when the temperature of the circulated pool water exceeds a particular threshold. The control circuit also includes a mode switch which may be actuated to reverse the action of the system, causing the pool water to be circulated through the collector when the collector temperature is lower than the pool water temperature, for example, at night following a hot day, in which the collector radiates to the black sky, whereby the collector can be used to cool the water in the pool.
