    摘要: A reflector for photovoltaic power generation is characterized by the use of a color coating on the surface of the reflector material which is stable to ultraviolet light. The reflector includes a substrate and a layer of high purity aluminum on the substrate. The aluminum layer is anodized and coated with a gold dye so that the reflector has a reflectivity which is high for long wave, near infrared, and red to green light, moderate for blue light, and low for ultraviolet light. When such a reflector is arranged adjacent to a photovoltaic panel, it reflects additional sunlight onto the panel to increase the electrical output of the panel without damaging the solar collector material of the panel.

    摘要: A system for tracking a randomly moving object using a laser beam and first and second beam steering assemblies. The steering assemblies pivot, respectively, about substantially perpendicular and intersecting X and Y axes and direct the laser beam along an R axis, which is perpendicular to the X axis and intersects the X and Y axes. Along the R axis, the laser beam is intercepted by a retroreflector, which is coupled to the moving object and which returns the laser beam to a quadrant detector via the steering assemblies. The quadrant detector generates an error signal representative of the object's movement relative to the X and Y axes, and this signal is transmitted to two motors which pivot the steering assemblies about the X and Y axes to reduce the error to zero. The system includes an interferometer to determine the distance of the object from a reference location. The first beam steering assembly includes two prisms which redirect the laser beam through three 90.degree. reflections from an initial direction parallel to the Y axis and towards the X axis to an intermediate direction along the X axis and towards the Y axis. The second beam steering assembly includes a third prism which redirects the laser beam through one 90.degree. reflection from the intermediate direction along the X axis to one coincident with the R axis.

    摘要: The solar receiver for use e.g. with a solar-powered Stirling-type hot gas engine includes an internally mounted fused silica window for sealing the receiver aperture against thermal energy convection losses. The window has a folded cone configuration with an inverted radially outer truncated conical window member, and a radially inner conical window member joined at the base to the smaller base of the outer member. The larger base of the outer conical member is attached to the receiver housing to surround the aperture, and the angle of revolution of both members is about 20.degree.. At least 50% of the solar radiation escaping the receiver through the aperture undergoes at least three reflections prior to escaping.

    摘要: An improved electromagnetic radiation collector system for concentrating electromagnetic radiation emitted from a source to a collecting mechanism. The radiation collector system includes a plurality of primary reflectors which are moveably actuated responsive to a displacement of the electromagnetic radiation source. The primary reflector members reflect and concentrate the source emitted radiation to a secondary reflector which is positionally located substantially at the focal length of the displaceable primary reflector members or plates. The secondary reflector is particularly contoured and reflectively coated to reflect the initially concentrated reflected radiation to a substantially line focus. The secondary reflector may be stationary or formed of a plurality of rotatable reflecting members. Radiation reflected from the secondary reflector is focused upon a line collector mechanism or heating a fluid medium passing therethrough. Additionally, the second reflector may reflect radiation to a light redirecting mechanism having an absorbing face substantially located along the focus line of the secondary reflector elements.

A boiler (50) heats the high pressure mixture composition and vaporizes the refrigerant.
