摘要: A cross-linkable composition includes an elastomeric fluoropolymer and a semi-crystalline fluoroplastic. The composition enables manufacturing of articles which maintain favorable mechanical properties (e.g. tensile strength, elongation and flexibility) when continuously exposed to extreme temperatures. In addition, a cross-linked product obtained by subjecting said composition to ionizing radiation is disclosed, which may be used in heat-shrinkable articles, cable jackets and sealing elements.

摘要: Described herein are fluoropolymer compositions comprising a compound of Formula I wherein X1 is selected from O or S; L is a divalent linking group comprising at least one aromatic ring; and X2 is selected from the group consisting of a hydroxyl group, an amino group, a thiol group, and a nitrile group. In one embodiment, the phthalonitrile-containing compound is used to crosslink a dehydrohalogenated polymer, and optionally with a polyhydroxy curative. In another embodiment, the phthalonitrile-containing compound is added to a composition comprising (i) a fluorinated elastomeric gum, wherein the fluorinated elastomeric gum comprises a fluoropolymer having a cure-site and (ii) a peroxide curing system.

摘要: A resin composition containing a polycarbonate resin and a fluorine-containing copolymer. The fluorine-containing copolymer is a copolymer containing a polymerized unit based on tetrafluoroethylene in an amount of 75% by mass or more of all polymerized units and at least one selected from a polymerized unit based on hexafluoropropylene and a polymerized unit based on a perfluoro(alkyl vinyl ether) in an amount of 2% by mass or more. Also disclosed is a molded article formed from the resin composition, the polycarbonate resin constituting a continuous phase and the fluorine-containing copolymer constituting a dispersed phase having an average particle size of 0.01 to 2.5 μm.

摘要: Surface micro-texturing has been proven an effective way to reduce friction and wear for tribological applications. There is provided a low cost hot sintering method to apply micro-texturing on an advanced bearing polymer material. First, one face of the mold was micro-textured using a micro-casting method. Second, the cured Aromatic Thermosetting coPolyester (ATSP) powder was filled in the mold. Next, the filled mold was placed in a hot press for a hot sintering process. Finally, the textured bulk ATSP was cooled. The micro-textured ATSP bulk material was machined and compared with plain untextured material. The micro-textured material could effectively reduce friction at speeds lower than 2.46 m/s: 14% reduction in average.
