摘要: A method of cementing an oil or gas well for abandonment comprises cutting the production tubing 6 above the production packer 8, setting a tubing plug 9 in the tubing and then cutting the tubing. A bridge plug may be installed at the level of the cut, which spans the full diameter of the well casing 3. An agitator assembly 20 comprising an agitator 24, packer 21 and burst sub 23, with a running tool fitted to the top, is run down the tubing on wire line. Cement is then injected into the tubing 6, which flows through the agitator assembly and causes the tubing to vibrate. The cement fills the tubing but also flows back up the A annulus between the casing and production tubing. Vibration of the tubing assists the formation of a good quality cement plug extending all around the annulus over a substantial length of the well.

摘要: An apparatus for creating vibrations in a pipe string is disclosed. The device comprises a fluid pump which pumps fluid within a first fluid bore and is connected to the pipe string. A hydraulic pump pumps fluid within a second fluid bore and a movable plunger disposed between the first fluid bore and the second fluid bore intermittently opens and closes access to a tank based on changes to a pressure of the fluid pump. The tank for collecting at least a portion of the fluid is connected to the apparatus via the first fluid bore, and the movement of the plunger is configured to generate vibrations within the pipe string by altering the amount of fluid allowed to flow to the tank.

摘要: Implementations described herein are directed to a pressure pulse well tool, which may include an upper valve assembly configured to move between a start position and a stop position in a housing. The pressure pulse well tool may also include an activation valve subassembly disposed within the upper valve assembly. The activation valve subassembly may be configured to restrict a fluid flow through the upper valve assembly and increase a fluid pressure across the upper valve assembly. The pressure pulse well tool may further include a lower valve assembly disposed inside the housing and configured to receive the fluid flow from the upper valve assembly. The lower valve assembly may be configured to separate from the upper valve assembly after the upper valve assembly reaches the stop position, causing the fluid flow to pass through the lower valve assembly and to decrease the fluid pressure across the upper valve assembly.

摘要: A circulating valve assembly can include a valve controlling flow between an interior and an exterior of the assembly, another valve controlling flow between sections of a flow passage extending through the assembly, and an actuator that both opens one valve and closes the other valve in response to each of multiple positive pressure differentials from the interior to the exterior. A system for use with a well can include a circulating valve assembly controlling flow through a tubular string and a well tool connected in the tubular string downstream of the assembly. In one configuration of the assembly, the flow passes through the well tool. In another configuration, the flow passes from the tubular string to an annulus external to the tubular string, with the flow substantially bypassing the well tool. The assembly cycles between the configurations in response to alternating increases and decreases in the flow.

摘要: A pressure pulse tool and techniques that allow for a reciprocating piston at a frequency independent of a flow rate of fluid which powers the reciprocating. The architecture of the tool and techniques employed may take advantage of a Coand{hacek over (a)} or other implement to alternatingly divert fluid flow between pathways in communication with the piston in order to attain the reciprocation. Frequency of reciprocation may be between about 1 Hz and about 200 Hz or other suitably tunable ranges. Once more, the frequency may be enhanced through periodic exposure to annular pressure. Extended reach through use of such a pressure pulse tools and techniques may exceed about 2,000 feet.

摘要: A method for improving fuel collection from an underground deposit comprising stimulating fuel-containing sections of an underground formation, the sections being located between a first well and a second well, the first well being either an injection well or a production well, and the second well being a production well. The method includes arranging a mechanical wave generation device downhole in the first well and arranging at least a first mechanical wave sensor in the production well, injecting a pressurized fluid into the formation from at least the first well, activating the mechanical wave generation device downhole to project mechanical waves into and through the fuel-containing sections, receiving and processing the waves sent from the first well, generating a tomography of the underground environment between the first well and the second well, and collecting fuel in the second well via inflow valves arranged in the second well.

摘要: A plasma source for generating nonlinear, wide-band, periodic, directed, elastic oscillations in a fluid medium. The plasma source includes a plasma emitter having two electrodes defining a gap, a delivery device for introducing a metal conductor into the gap, and a high voltage transformer for powering the plasma emitter. A system and method for stimulating wells, deposits, and boreholes through controlled periodic oscillations generated using the plasma source. The system includes the plasma source, a ground control unit, and a support cable. In the method, the plasma source is submerged in the fluid medium of a well, deposit, or borehole and is used to create a metallic plasma in the gap. The metallic plasma emits a pressure pulse and shockwaves, which are directed into the fluid medium. Nonlinear, wide-band, periodic and elastic oscillations are generated in the fluid medium, including resonant oscillations by passage of the shockwaves.

摘要: A downhole tool is disclosed herein that has an inlet for receiving fluid into a housing of the downhole tool. The downhole tool further includes a vibratory apparatus at least partially disposed within the housing of the downhole tool, the vibratory apparatus having an operational flow path disposed therein to operate the vibratory apparatus when fluid flowing through the operational flow path is above a predetermined pressure. Furthermore, the downhole tool has a bypass passageway disposed in the housing for providing an additional flow path for fluid through the downhole tool to prevent fluid from reaching the predetermined pressure in the operational flow path of the vibratory apparatus, the bypass passageway selectively blockable such that fluid in the operational flow path is increased above the predetermined pressure to activate the vibratory apparatus when the bypass passageway is blocked. A method of using the downhole tool is also disclosed.

A method can include discharging a fluid from the tubular string, thereby applying a reaction force to the tubular string, which reaction force biases the tubular string at least partially into the well. Another method can include discharging a pulsating fluid from a fluid oscillator in a direction at least partially toward an end of the tubular string, and drilling into an earth formation with a drill bit connected at an opposite end of the tubular string in the well.
