    Abstract: A computer system includes one or more processors, one or more hardware accelerators, and control circuitry. The processors are configured to run software that executes tasks in a normal mode. The accelerators are configured to execute the tasks in an accelerated mode. The control circuitry is configured to receive one or more flows of tasks for execution by the processors and the accelerators, assign one or more initial tasks of each flow for execution by the processors, assign subsequent tasks of each flow for execution by the accelerators, and verify, for each flow, that the accelerators do not execute the subsequent tasks of the flow until the processors have fully executed the initial tasks of the flow.

    Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and associated methods of manufacturing are described that provide a cooling system for network connections. An example system includes a networking cage assembly that receives a networking cable and a water block that circulates water. The system includes a thermal unit that includes a thermal medium. The thermal medium defines a static end that thermally engages the water block and a dynamic end opposite the static end that is disposed within the networking cage assembly. In an operational configuration in which the networking cable is received by the networking cage assembly, a portion of the dynamic end thermally engages the networking cable so as to dissipate heat from the networking cable to the thermal medium, the thermal medium conducts the heat from the dynamic end to the static end, and the static end dissipates heat from the thermal medium via thermal engagement with the water block.

    Abstract: A liquid-cooling assembly includes two or more cooling sub-assemblies and a flexible interconnect assembly. The two or more cooling sub-assemblies are configured for cooling two or more respective pluggable connector-cages, each cooling sub-assembly including (i) a heat-conducting plate for coupling to a respective pluggable connector-cage, and (ii) a liquid-conducting channel having an inlet and an outlet for flowing cooling liquid. The flexible interconnect assembly is configured to transfer the cooling liquid to and from inlets and outlets of the cooling sub-assemblies, and to mechanically support the cooling sub-assemblies while permitting motion of the cooling sub-assemblies relative to one another.

    Abstract: A method for communication includes producing an error signal by comparing a driving signal applied to a transmitter to an output signal generated by the transmitter in response to the driving signal. The error signal is decomposed into a linear component having a first memory depth and a nonlinear component having one or more polynomial orders and a second memory depth that is less than the first memory depth. First coefficients, up to the first memory depth, of a linear predistortion kernel are computed for application to the driving signal so as to compensate for the linear component of the error signal. Second coefficients for the one or more polynomial orders, up to the second memory depth, of a nonlinear predistortion kernel are computed so as to compensate for the nonlinear component of the error signal. Operation of the transmitter is optimized using the first and second coefficients.

    Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and associated methods of manufacturing are described that provide a networking card arrangement with increased thermal performance. An example arrangement includes a primary network card that defines a first card-to-board connection and a networking chipset supported by the primary network card. The arrangement also includes an auxiliary network card that defines a second card-to-board connection and networking cable connectors supported by the auxiliary network card that receive networking cables therein. The arrangement further includes a card connection element that operably connects the primary network card and the auxiliary network card. In an operational configuration in which the primary network card and the auxiliary network card are received by a server board via the first card-to-board connection and the second card-to-board connection, the primary network card is spaced from the auxiliary network card such that air may pass therebetween.

    Abstract: An apparatus includes multiple processors, a classifier and queue management logic. The classifier is configured to classify tasks, which are received for execution by the processors, into multiple processor queues, each processor queue associated with a single processor or thread, and configured to temporarily store task entries that represent the tasks, and to send the tasks for execution by the associated processors. The queue management logic is configured to set, based on queue-lengths of the queues, an affinity strictness measure that quantifies a strictness with which the tasks of a same classified queue are to be processed by a same processor, and to assign the task entries to the queues while complying with the affinity strictness measure.
