    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The methods, systems, and devices may enable a base station to determine an operation state for a user equipment (UE) that corresponds to how the UE applies a preemption indication. The base station may indicate the operation state to the UE using a parameter of a configuration message. The base station may transmit a grant indicating time-frequency resources scheduled for the UE. The UE may identify a priority of a channel associated with the scheduled resources. The base station may determine a number of scheduled resources to be preempted or canceled and may indicate these resources to the UE using a preemption indication. The UE may determine remaining time-frequency resources based on the preemption indication, the priority of the channels, the operation state, or a combination thereof.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may determine to change a first slot format used when operating in a half-duplex mode based on a traffic pattern or a channel quality, or both, and may transmit a request to change the slot format to a base station. The request may include information relating to a slot format based on the traffic pattern or the channel quality, or both, such as an explicit indication of a slot format or a request for a different resource distribution between uplink symbols, downlink symbols, or flexible symbols, or any combination thereof. The base station may receive the request to change the slot format and may transmit an indication of a second slot format to the UE based on the request. The base station and the UE may communicate using the second slot format.

A method of wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) is described that may include receiving a data packet transmission over a wireless channel from a base station. The method may further include determining a set of intrinsic log likelihood ratios (LLRs) based at least in part on the data packet transmission and determining an accumulated capacity for the wireless channel based at least in part on the set of intrinsic LLRs. The method may also include determining a channel quality indicator index or a transmission rank for the wireless channel based at least in part on the accumulated capacity and transmitting a feedback message that indicates the channel quality indicator index or the transmission rank for the wireless channel to the base station.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) having partially coherent antennas may be configured for simultaneous transmissions on groups of antennas. To achieve the benefits of simultaneous transmissions using groups of antenna that are partially coherent, without having the transmissions affect each other, the UE may apply a hybrid closed-loop multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) scheme among each antenna in the antenna groups where phase coherence can be maintained Following the hybrid closed-loop MIMO scheme, the UE may apply a transparent diversity scheme across each antenna of the groups. Alternatively, the UE may first apply the transparent diversity scheme and next apply the hybrid closed-loop MIMO scheme. By applying a hybrid closed-loop MIMO scheme, and a transparent diversity scheme, the UE may fully realize its resources and contribute to an improved spatial diversity for a MIMO system.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for collision handling for channel state information (CSI) reporting on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH). A method for wireless communications by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method generally includes receiving scheduling for at least one CSI reporting transmission and at least one uplink transmission in a same slot. The UE determines to multiplex the at least one CSI and the at least one uplink transmission in the slot or to drop the at least one CSI or the at least one uplink transmission in the slot. The UE transmits in the slot at least one of: the at least one CSI transmission or the at least one uplink transmission based on the determination.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit a downlink control transmission and multiple downlink data transmissions to a user equipment (UE). The UE may schedule an uplink data transmission based on the downlink control transmission and may schedule transmission acknowledgement messages based on the multiple downlink data transmissions. The UE may identify that the scheduled uplink data transmission overlaps with the scheduled transmission acknowledgement messages. The UE may generate one or more acknowledgement codebooks for transmission of the multiple transmission acknowledgment messages and may multiplex the one or more acknowledgement codebooks with the uplink data transmission on the uplink data channel. In some cases, the UE may multiplex the codebooks based on determining that a set of timing thresholds are satisfied by an earliest of the multiple transmission acknowledgement messages and the uplink data transmission with respect to one or more downlink transmissions.
