Abstract: A control method includes obtaining, from a first terminal of a first user, reservation information including a use start date and time of an electric-powered vehicle that the first user hopes to use at a future time and that is being used by a second user; obtaining an amount of remaining battery of the electric-powered vehicle; calculating charge start date and time based on the amount of remaining battery obtained, the charge start date and time being a date and time at which the electric-powered vehicle should start being charged so that an amount of remaining battery of the electric-powered vehicle becomes no less than a predetermined value at the use start date and time included in the reservation information obtained; and transmitting notification information including the charge start date and time calculated to the electric-powered vehicle.

Abstract: An image decoder includes circuitry and a memory, wherein the circuitry, in operation, performs a boundary smoothing operation along a boundary between a first partition having a triangular shape and a second partition having a triangular shape that are split from an image block. The boundary smoothing operation includes: first-deriving a first motion vector for the first partition from a first set of motion vector candidates; second-deriving a second motion vector for the second partition from a second set of motion vector candidates; first-predicting first values of a set of pixels of the first partition along the boundary, using the first motion vector; second-predicting second values of the set of pixels of the first partition along the boundary, using the second motion vector; weighting the first values and the second values; and decoding the first partition using the weighted first values and the weighted second values.

The circuitry, in operation: determines whether or not a first splitting of splitting a block into three sub blocks in a first direction parallel to a first side of the block is available by determining a magnitude relation between a size of a second side of the block and a first value, the second side being different from the first side, the first side being a longer side of the block; when the first splitting is available, parses, from a bitstream, a split direction parameter indicative of a splitting direction; splits the block into a plurality of sub blocks in a direction indicated by the split direction parameter; and decodes the plurality of sub blocks.

Abstract: A gateway device connected to a network used in communication by multiple electronic control units provided on-board a vehicle. The gateway device performs operations including receiving firmware update information that includes updated firmware for one electronic control unit among the electronic control units, and acquiring system configuration information indicating a function of each of the electronic control units connected to the network. The gateway device further performs a controlling operation to update firmware of the one electronic control unit, for which updated firmware is received by the receiving, on a basis of the updated firmware, after an operation verification of the updated firmware is performed in an operating environment appropriately. The operating environment being configured with electronic control units of the same functions as each of the electronic control units indicated by the system configuration information.

Abstract: A transmission apparatus includes a plurality of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation signal generators, which generate a first OFDM modulation signal and a second OFDM modulation signal. The transmission apparatus also includes a transmitter that transmits the first OFDM modulation signal from a first antenna and the second OFDM modulation signal from a second antenna, in an identical frequency band. A reception apparatus is provided, which includes a plurality of antennas that receive a plurality of OFDM modulation signals; a plurality of OFDM demodulators that transform the plurality of OFDM modulation signals to a plurality of reception signals using Fourier transform; an estimator that outputs a distortion estimation signal using one or more symbols for demodulation included in the plurality of reception signals; and a demodulator that compensates for distortion of the reception signals using the distortion estimation signal and demodulates a data symbol included in the reception signals.

Abstract: A communication apparatus includes circuitry that determines a number of resource blocks forming a resource block group, which is a unit used to allocate a resource to the communication apparatus, in a first band or in a second band that is an expanded band to which the first band is expanded, and a subcarrier spacing for the second band is same or different from a subcarrier spacing for the first band; and a transceiver that is coupled to the circuitry and that communicates with a base station using the resource. One of the number of resource blocks set for the first band and the number of resource blocks set for the second band is an integer multiple of the other, and the number of resource blocks set for the first band and the number of resource blocks set for the second band are values that are a power of two.

Abstract: A management system includes: a right holder information storage unit which stores right holder information about a right holder entitled to use a delivery locker device; an agreement formation unit which creates a block of a blockchain that includes a processing instruction, and stores the block into a block storage unit; a terminal device which transmits an assignment processing instruction; a process execution unit which, when obtaining the assignment processing instruction included in the block, updates the current right holder included in the right holder information; and a condition checking unit which, when determining that the condition for assignment fails to be met, creates a return processing instruction and transmits the return processing instruction to the agreement formation unit. When obtaining the return processing instruction included in the block, the process execution unit updates the right holder information.

Abstract: An encoder, when sub-block encoding is to be performed, determines a plurality of sub-blocks in a first image block, the plurality of sub-blocks including a first sub-block, determines a first motion vector for the first sub-block by referring to a first candidate list, performs first inter prediction processing on the first sub-block using the first motion vector, and encodes the first image block using a result of the first inter prediction processing. When partition encoding is to be performed, the encoder, in operation, determines a plurality of partitions in a second image block, the plurality of partitions including a first partition, determines a second motion vector for the first partition by referring to a second candidate list, performs second inter prediction processing on the first partition using the second motion vector, and encodes the second image block using a result of the second inter prediction processing.
