摘要: A slide fastener chain with reinforcing strips is fed along a feed path through a finishing apparatus for trimming the reinforcing strips. The finishing apparatus has a chain guide unit, a cutter unit, and a chain tensioner unit. The chain guide unit includes a stop having recesses for accommodating some coupling elements and steps for engaging endmost coupling elements. The chain tensioner unit has a presser gripper for pressing the slide fastener chain against a support base and a presser roller for depressing the slide fastener chain to tension the same for thereby forcibly pushing the endmost coupling elements against the steps. When the slide fastener chain is tensioned by the chain tensioner unit, one of the reinforcing strips is accurately positioned with respect to the cutter unit. The reinforcing strip is then trimmed by central and side cutters which cut off excessive central and side portions completely.

摘要: A slide fastener stringer having a continuous zigzag-shaped thermoplastic molded coupling element strip. The strip includes a succession of spaced coupling elements, each having a pair of first and second legs extending from a head in a common direction, and a plurality of first and second solid connecting portions alternately disposed at opposite sides of the strip and extending one between each adjacent pair of the coupling elements. Each first connecting portion and each second connecting portion extend between an adjacent pair of the first legs and between an adjacent pair of the second legs, respectively. The connecting portions are thin or more slender than the legs. A pair of connector threads extends transversely of the coupling elements through the full length of the strip and they are embedded in the first and second legs, respectively, of each coupling element, each connector thread being disposed close to and extending along a respective one of such two series of the first and second connecting portions.

摘要: A chute for use with an electromagnetically vibratable parts feeder has an inlet end attached to a bowl tangentially thereto and an outlet end remote from the inlet end. A leaf spring assembly is disposed below the chute and attached thereto adjacent to the outlet end. The leaf spring assembly is inclined at an angle to the chute, and comprises a pair of parallel spaced leaf springs or a sole leaf spring. Each of the leaf springs has an upper end coupled to the chute and a lower end adapted for attachment to a stationary base such as a machine base. The upper end is located more closely than the lower end to the outlet end of the chute. When the bowl is electromagnetically vibrated in circular back-and-forth movements, the chute is reciprocably moved back and forth to cause parts to move forward therealong due to inertia.

摘要: A device for positioning a pair of longitudinally advancing elongate slide fastener stringers comprises a pair of positioning jaws movable relatively to one another in a direction substantially perpendicular to the plane of each slide fastener stringer to define therebetween a guide channel for the passage of the slide fastener stringer. At least one of the positioning jaws includes a step for engaging the leading coupling element of each coupling element row mounted on one longitudinal edge of a tape of each respective slide fastener stringer, for thereby stopping the slide fastener stringer. The positioning device having the positioning jaws is capable of accurately positioning the slide fastner stringers even when the slide fastener stringer is laterally undulated or locally swelled during advancing movement thereof.

摘要: An apparatus for automatically manufacturing a bidirectionally openable slide fastener includes a pin attachment unit for attaching a pin to an end of one of a pair of slide fastener stringers, a pair of first and second slider attachment units for attaching first and second sliders, respectively, to the stringers, and a box pin attachment unit for attaching a box pin to an end of the other slide fastener stringer. The slide fastener stringers are fed by a gripper mechanism along a feed path as the pin, the sliders, and the box pin are successively attached to the slide fastener stringers. Finally, the slide fastener stringers are cut off by a cutter unit into a bidirectionally openable slide fastener of a desired length.

摘要: In a woven slide fastener stringer of the type which comprises a row of successively interconnected elongated loops of a plastic filament woven into a longitudinal edge of a stringer tape woven of foundation warp and weft threads, and a pair of groups of upper and lower binding warp threads extending respectively over and under the loops and interwoven with the foundation weft thread, the improvements comprising a gap-filling warp thread extending parallel with and between an outermost one of the upper binding warp threads and the next adjoining upper binding warp thread and also between an outermost one of the lower binding warp threads and the next adjoining lower binding warp thread, and passing alternately over and under the foundation weft thread, thereby tensioning the latter thread to sink substantially halfway between the upper and lower legs of each adjacent pair of loops. Preferably, the outermost upper and lower binding warp threads are disposed in registry with each other to make the foundation weft thread lie substantially perpendicualr to the plane of the fastener stringer between the two outermost binding warp threads. The row of loops thus woven is stably secured in place against angular displacement and held at the proper pitch with respect to individual adjacent loops.

摘要: A curtain wall assembly in the form of an array of standardized curtain wall units. In its simplest form, each curtain wall unit comprises a panel or pane of glass or like material, and a generally rectangular frame supporting the panel. The panel has its top and bottom edge portions engaged respectively in gaps in the top and bottom members of the frame, whereas the opposite lateral edge portions of the panel are arranged exteriorly of the side frame members and secured thereto by a relatively rigid adhesive. The panels of the horizontally adjoining curtain wall units are secured edgewise to each other by a relatively elastic adhesive. Thus, viewed from the exterior side of the curtain wall assembly, the side frame members are concealed behind the panels for the enhancement of an aesthetic appeal of the complete curtain wall assembly. In the embodiment disclosed herein, the array of curtain wall units takes the form of vertically alternating rows of spandrel units and window units. The spandrel units and window units are both constructed in comformity with the above basic principles of the curtain wall units.

摘要: A ventilation system comprising a heat-exchanger rotor mounted in a four-chamber housing supported on a panel or window unit, and a preliminary heat-exchange unit mounted at an air-intake portion of the housing. The window unit has a frame composed of a plurality of hollow structural sections defining a heat-medium passageway for circulation of heat medium such as hot water or cold water therethrough. The preliminary heat-exchanger unit has a radiation/endothermy tube connected to the heat-medium passageway for fluid communication therewith. The radiation/endothermy tube serves to prewarm or precool air (introduced from the exterior) before the latter passes through the heat-exchanger rotor.

摘要: An apparatus, for retaining a sash in a desired open position in a projected window, comprises at least one retaining unit adapted to be mounted on an outer frame, and at least one transforming unit adapted to be mounted within an inner frame. The retaining unit includes a tube-like member adapted to be pivotally connected to the outer frame, and a rod turnably and telescopically received in the tube-like member. The transforming unit is operatively connected to a handle (on the inner frame) and the rod for, in response to angular movement of the handle, turning the rod between a first position in which the rod is prevented from being longitudinally or axially moved relative to the tube-like member and a second position in which the rod is allowed to be longitudinally or axially moved relative to the tube-like member.
