    摘要: A display apparatus, backlight assembly and method for displaying an image is capable of compensating for non-uniformity of a light guiding plate. The display apparatus includes a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel on which an image is displayed; a light guiding unit which is placed adjacent to the LCD panel and includes a plurality of light guide plates for guiding incident light to the LCD panel; a plurality of light emitting diode (LED) modules which are individually arranged at least one lateral side of the plurality of light guide plates and which emit light to the other lateral sides, respectively; and a video processor which changes brightness of an image displayed on a compensation area of the LCD panel that corresponds to an edge region of the light guide plate to compensate brightness at the edge region. The non-uniformity of the divided light guide plates is reduced.

Accordingly, the contrast ratio of the entire image can be enhanced by compensating for the brightness loss of the image signal caused from the brightness adjustment of the luminous element, and the image quality can be more finely improved.

    摘要: An internet interface service system and method are capable of connecting portable mobile terminals of users (such as notebook computers, palm top computers, network computers, PDAs, and the like) to a communication (or internet) network in public places (such as airports, conference places, bus terminals and the like). In accordance with the system and method, the mobile terminals are connected via the communication network to any of a plurality of information providing servers for receiving information. A settlement server is provided for performing electronic settlements of communication connection charges for the mobile terminals. An internet interface unit is provided for enabling the mobile terminals to be connected to the communication network and for charging the users of the mobile terminals for the usage of the internet interface service system. A central management server manages the internet interface unit, allocates dynamic IP addresses when the mobile terminals of users are connected to the internet interface unit, and releases the allocated addresses upon termination of communication of the mobile terminals.

The method includes: generating a phase corrected kth field by compensating a phase of the kth field of the input interlaced picture signal by 1 line frequency; calculating a first motion vector between the phase corrected kth field and the (k−1)th field of the interlaced picture signal; calculating a second motion vector between the (k−1)th field and the (k+1)th field of the interlaced picture signal; and determining whether there is motion of the input picture based on the first and second motion vector values, and generating a kth progressive frame based on the result and the kth field. Thus, a serration phenomenon is minimized after de-interlacing by more exactly detecting the motion information of a corresponding inserted field.
