摘要: A hydrodynamic type bearing unit comprises a shaft member 2, a bearing member 4 and a bearing clearance formed between the shaft member 2 and a bearing member 4 to produce a hydrodynamic pressure during the rotation of a shaft member 2. The bearing clearance is composed of a first clearance C1 on one axial side and a second clearance C2 on the other axial side and the first and second clearances C1 and C2 are mutually oppositely inclined against an axial direction.

摘要: A dynamic pressure bearing-unit is provided, which includes a shaft member (2) with a shaft (2a) and a flange portion (2b), a radial bearing (10) for supporting the shaft member (2) in the radial direction, and a thrust bearing (11) for supporting the flange portion (2b) of the shaft member (2) in the direction of thrust. The radial bearing (10) and the thrust bearing (11) support the shaft member (2) by dynamic pressure action out of contact, respectively, and the shaft (2a) and the flange portion (2b) are constructed in one piece. In this case, dynamic pressure grooves of the thrust bearing (11) are provided on the end surface of the bearing member (7) or on the upper surface of the thrust support portion (13) opposite to the flange portion (2b).

摘要: A data conversion apparatus is provided for reading a document for a display screen and generating a display image for another display screen which has a different aspect ratio from the former display screen, where the document is composed of control statements written along with character strings or image information. The data conversion apparatus obtains the document from an external unit and converts the character strings and the image information in the document into display image elements based on conversion information. The data conversion apparatus judges whether a storage includes a blank for storing the display image elements at an appropriate position based on the conversion information. The data conversion apparatus writes the display image elements into the blank if it judges that the storing unit includes the blank; the data conversion apparatus assigns a new storage area in the storage and writes the display image elements into the new storage area if it judges that the storing unit does not include the blank.

摘要: A process for producing cobalt-modified iron oxide particles, which comprises the steps of:(1) adding to magnetic iron oxide particles(a) a cobalt compound,(b) an iron component which is either (b.sub.1) a ferric compound at an atomic ratio to the cobalt compound in the range of 0.68 to 2 or (b.sub.2) a combination of a ferrous compound and a ferric compound, and(c) an alkali at a concentration enough to cause the cobalt and iron to precipitate as hydroxides; and(2) heating the mixture at a temperature of at least 50.degree. C. and not higher than the reflux temperature thereof in a non-oxidizing atmosphere.
