摘要： The present invention provides a reproduction apparatus capable of automatically switching an input of a television to an output from a broadcast receiver such as an STB. A television, upon receiving a notification command notifying that output of video or audio is to start, switches its input to an output from an apparatus which has sent the notification command. An STB, upon receiving an instruction command instructing that output of video or audio should be started, sends the notification command to the television. A DVD recorder includes: a decoder that reproduces video or audio recorded in a DVD-RAM disc; a data output I/F that outputs the reproduced video or audio to the television; and a command sending and receiving I/F that sends the instruction command to the STB when the output of the reproduced video or audio ends.

摘要： A TV is provided for enabling a viewer to continuously watch a program which has been received even though a TV broadcast receiver is switched from a TV tuner to an apparatus for external input. A TV (131) transmits an output start instruction command to a DVD decoder (101) selected as the apparatus for external input (Step 201). Upon receiving the output start instruction command, the DVD recorder (101) transmits the output start notification command to the TV (131) (Step 202). Upon receiving the output start notification command, the TV (131) switches the input path to the DVD recorder (101) (Step 203), and transmits, to the DVD recorder (101), a channel selecting command including information showing a channel which the viewer has watched (Step 204). When receiving the selection command, the DVD recorder (101) changes the channel selection on the tuner (103) to the channel which the information showing the channel in the channel selecting command.

Bandwidth acquiring means 809 of a second transmitting apparatus 814 acquires a bandwidth which was used by a first transmitting apparatus 806 by using a propagation delay identifier804 read from first transmitting apparatus 806 and a maximum transmission data size 805 after stopping transmission of first transmitting apparatus 806. Each apparatus is composed so that transmission is started using this bandwidth and because returning and re-acquisition are not accompanied when the transmission is switched, necessary procedure can be simplified. Further, it is possible to effectively use the bandwidth by using a propagation delay identifier.

摘要： A data transfer method which eliminates erroneous operation of conventional devices not supporting encryption when copy-protected AV information is encrypted and sent on an IEEE 1394 bus. Synchronous data transferred through isochronous communication contains i) encryption identification information for indicating encryption of actual data and ii) actual data. Only the actual data is encrypted. Encryption identification information indicating encryption of actual data in synchronous data is sent together with actual data from the sending device. A receiving device detecting encryption of actual data from this encryption identification information requests decrypting information from the sending device. The receiving device decrypts the actual data using decrypting information received from the sending device according to this request.
