Abstract: A clamping system for fastening a cooling unit on a circulating supporting element of a caterpillar-type casting machine includes at least one connecting element, which is pre-tensioned in its longitudinal direction by a spring, and a clamping arrangement, by which the cooling unit is fastenable on the supporting element. The connecting element is accommodated in a displaceably mounted manner in the direction of its longitudinal axis inside the supporting element. The clamping arrangement is formed by a head on an upper end face of the connecting element and a recess, which is provided on/in the cooling unit and is brought into interaction therewith. The connecting element is pre-tensioned by the spring toward the supporting element and is transferred into a clamping position, in which the cooling unit, when the head of the connecting element engages with the recess provided on/in the cooling unit, is automatically clamped with the supporting element.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a metallic strip or sheet (1), in which the strip or sheet (1) is rolled in a multi-stand rolling mill (11) and is discharged downstream of the last roll stand (14) of the rolling mill (11) in the conveying direction (F), wherein the strip or sheet (1) is cooled in the multi-stand rolling mill (11) and/or downstream of the rolling mill (11) as viewed in conveying direction (F), wherein a temperature of the strip or sheet (1) is measured upstream of the last roll stand (14) of the rolling mill (11) as viewed in conveying direction (F). Based on this measured temperature, a temperature for the strip or sheet (1) at the exit (A) of the last roll stand (14) of the rolling mill (11), is then determined purely by calculation with the aid of a temperature calculation model, with which temperature further processes of the manufacturing method can be controlled or regulated after a comparison with a predetermined reference value.

Abstract: An apparatus for measuring a thread includes a holder for detachably holding a tube having a thread formed at an end of the tube. A first optical measuring section having an optical sensor is attached to a manipulator in order to move the measuring section relative to the tube. Abstract: A rolling mill for solid elongated products, defining a rolling axis, including first and second rolling stations. Each station includes a load-bearing structure, a removable roll-holder cartridge with three rolling rolls movable radially and rotating around spaced rotational axes, and a roll having a vertical rotational axis. A system synchronizes mechanical adjustment of the rolls. Three actuators mount on the load-bearing structure; three gear motor groups connect to the rolls by single extensions. The second station rolls are rotated 60° from the first stations. The rolls with a vertical axis of the first and second stations are arranged on opposite sides of the rolling axis. All rolling stations allow lateral extraction of roll-holder cartridges from the same side of the rolling mill. The stations on the extraction side have actuators movable relative to the load-bearing structure. The stations with vertical rolls arranged on the opposite side have fixed actuators.

Abstract: A bearing closure device has a externally threaded ring that can be slid onto a roll journal. One stop close to the roll barrel and one stop away from the roll barrel are provided on the roll journal in order to limit the axial movement of the threaded ring. A ring nut with an internal thread is screwed onto the external thread of the threaded ring. To facilitate safe screwing on and unscrewing of the ring nut and to keep screws pressure-free during the operation of the bearing a pressure ring is mounted between the bearing and the threaded ring in an axially displaceable manner. In addition, a plurality of screws can be screwed into axial threaded bores in the threaded ring in order to press against the pressure ring in the axial direction. Finally, the ring nut can be screwed or adjusted against the pressure ring.

Abstract: A stretch reducing rolling mill for rolling pipes has a plurality of roll stands arranged in series in a conveying direction of a pipe. A wall thickness measuring device determines a wall thickness progression of the pipe prior to rolling. A control unit controls respective rotational speeds of the roll stands. A pipe position measuring device is arranged in front of the roll stands and continuously measures a current longitudinal coordinate of the pipe. The measured values of the longitudinal coordinate of the pipe are transmitted to the control unit. The control unit controls the rotational speeds of the roll stands based on both the determined wall thickness progression and the transmitted measured values of the current longitudinal coordinate of the pipe, in order to compensate for wall thickness variations of the pipe. A stretch reducing rolling mill is designed to carry out the method.
