Abstract: A method for forming a refractory material is described comprising the steps of placing a core material 12 into a granulator device 16, operating the granulator device 16 to form the core material into granules 16, adding a coating material 18 to the granulator device 16, operating the granulator device 16 to result in the formation of a layer 20 of the coating material 18 encapsulating the granules 16, and then heating the coated granules 22. Materials manufactured using the method are also described.

Abstract: A display is described which comprises a plurality of pixels (12), wherein each pixel (12) comprises a plasmonic resonator (26) including first and second metallic material elements (16, 22) and incorporating a layer (18) of a phase change material, the plasmonic resonator (26) being arranged such that in one material state of the phase change material (18) the electric field coupling between the second metallic material element (22) and the phase change material layer (18) is strong and so strong absorption of selected wavelengths of the incident light occurs, whereas in another state of the phase change material (18) the electric field coupling between the metallic material elements (16, 22) and the phase change material layer (18), and between the first and second metallic material elements (16, 22) is weak and so re-radiation of incident light occurs, the pixel (12) being of high reflectance.

Abstract: A method of producing a substrate provided with a shaped graphene material electrically conductive region is described, the method comprising applying a photoresist material to a substrate, shaping the photoresist material to cover at least part of the substrate that is not to be electrically conductive, depositing a graphene material onto the substrate over the shaped photoresist material, and subsequently removing the photoresist material. Also described are devices such as touch sensors and shaped light emitting devices manufactured using the method.

Abstract: There is provided a NetB epitope polypeptide comprising at least 10 contiguous amino acids from SEQ ID NO:1 and comprising a mutation in at least one position between amino acids 130 and 297 as compared with the equivalent position in SEQ ID NO:3, the mutation preferably being located within a rim domain, the polypeptide being capable of binding an antibody which binds to SEQ ID NO:1 and having reduced toxicity compared with the toxicity of SEQ ID NO:1. The polypeptide is useful to vaccinate a subject against infection by Clostridium perfringens.
