摘要: A deep learning-based system and method is provided that uses a convolutional neural network to rapidly transform in vivo reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) images of unstained skin into virtually-stained hematoxylin and eosin-like images with microscopic resolution, enabling visualization of epidermis, dermal-epidermal junction, and superficial dermis layers. The network is trained using ex vivo RCM images of excised unstained tissue and microscopic images of the same tissue labeled with acetic acid nuclear contrast staining as the ground truth. The trained neural network can be used to rapidly perform virtual histology of in vivo, label-free RCM images of normal skin structure, basal cell carcinoma and melanocytic nevi with pigmented melanocytes, demonstrating similar histological features of traditional histology from the same excised tissue. The system and method enables more rapid diagnosis of malignant skin neoplasms and reduces invasive skin biopsies.

摘要: The presently-disclosed subject matter includes a compound comprising a first monomer, which is allyl-functionalized and crosslinkable, and a second monomer, which is not crosslinkable. In some embodiments the compounds are photocrosslinkable, and in certain embodiments are photo crosslinkable by ultraviolet light. Also provided are shape memory vascular grafts comprised the of present compounds that can transition from a temporary shape to an original shape when heated above a melting temperature of the graft. Still further provided are methods for treating vascular conditions that utilize embodiments of the present grafts.

摘要: Described herein are new synthetic routes for production of Endochin-Like Quinolone (ELQ) compounds. Synthetic routes to 3-substituted 4(1H)-quinolones are presented that are amenable to industrial scale preparation. One herein presented approach is relatively short, does not require palladium, and involves no chromatographic separation. A second herein presented approach is similarly relatively short, does not require palladium, involves no chromatographic separation, and also avoids high vacuum distillation. Additionally, both approaches require no protecting group chemistry because the insoluble 4(1H)-quinolone is not formed until the final reaction step.

摘要: Instances of a single brain computer interface (BCI) system can be implemented on multiple devices. An active instance can control the associated device. The instances can each communicate with a neural decoding system that can receive neural signals from a user, process the neural signals, and output a command based on the processed neural signals. A device running the active instance of can be in communication with the neural decoding system to receive a command. The device can include a display, a non-transitory memory storing instructions, and a processor to execute the instructions to: run an instance of a control program; and execute the task based on the command.

摘要: An external catheter system can comprise an external catheter comprising an engagement portion that is configured to receive and sealingly engage at least a portion of a penis of a user and an outlet. The system can further comprise a negative pressure source. A conduit can couple the negative pressure source to the external catheter. At least one of the external catheter and the conduit can comprise a portion that, upon application of a negative pressure by the negative pressure source, is configured to collapse to provide a pressure drop between the negative pressure source and the engagement portion of the external catheter.
