摘要: Interference issues between wireless network devices are mitigated. An evolved node B (eNodeB) may experience higher cell load or higher interference when serving user equipment (UEs) that are operating in an cell range extension (CRE) area in which the UEs are strongly affected by aggressor eNodeBs. An eNodeB experiencing higher cell load or serving user equipments (UEs) under higher interference generally requests an interfering/aggressor eNodeB to repartition some of its resources. Repartitioning of resources, however, may have a negative impact on the eNodeB serving CRE area UEs. In one aspect, a new measurement of utilization accounts for CRE status and differentiates between protected and unprotected resources, such as subframes.

摘要: Techniques for determining resources to use for peer-to-peer (P2P) communication are disclosed. In an aspect, a network entity may receive feedback information (e.g., resource usage information and/or channel state information) from P2P devices and may perform resource partitioning based on the feedback information to allocate some of the available resources for P2P communication. The allocated resources may observe little or no interference from devices engaged in wide area network (WAN) communication. In another aspect, P2P groups may perform resource negotiation via a WAN connection (e.g., with little or no involvement by the WAN) to assign the allocated resources to different P2P groups. In yet another aspect, a device may autonomously determine whether to communicate with another device directly or via a WAN, e.g., whether to initiate P2P communication with another device and whether to terminate P2P communication. In yet another aspect, a network entity may participate in resource negotiation by P2P devices.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for partitioning resources for enhanced inter-cell interference coordination (eICIC) are provided. Certain aspects involve broadcasting a message indicating time-domain resource partitioning information (RPI), where a user equipment (UE) may be operating in idle mode. With the RPI, the UE may be able to identify protected resources with reduced/eliminated interference from neighboring cells. The RPI in this broadcasted message may be encoded as a bitmap as an alternative or in addition to enumeration of the U/N/X subframes. Other aspects entail transmitting a dedicated or unicast message indicating the time-domain RPI, where a UE may be operating in connected mode. With the RPI, the UE may be able to determine channel state information (CSI), make radio resource management (RRM) measurements, or perform radio link monitoring (RLM), based on one or more signals from a serving base station during the protected time-domain resources.

摘要: Aspects describe indicating to a mobile station whether an access point supports local Internet Protocol (IP) access. The indication can be sent through utilization of common signaling, which allows the mobile station to have information about the local IP access availability before connecting to the access point. The indication can be sent through utilization of dedicated signaling, which allows the mobile station to find out about availability of local IP access after the mobile station connects to the access point.

摘要: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate packet routing among relay eNBs in a wireless network. Packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer communications from a user equipment (UE) can terminate at a donor evolved Node B (eNB) and vice versa. In this regard, relay eNBs can forward PDCP layer communications over a routing protocol without locally processing the layer. The relay eNBs can, however, retrieve one or more parameters from a header of the PDCP layer for feedback to the donor eNB to assist in flow control, sequence number status transfer, and/or the like. In addition, routing identifier can be utilized to determine relay eNBs for receiving the packets. The routing identifier can additionally include an identifier of a radio bearer of the relay eNB communicating with the UE over which the PDCP layer communications are to be transmitted.

摘要: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate communicating inter-eNB packets among eNBs in a cluster implemented by a donor eNB. A relay eNB can report an address received from a gateway upstream to one or more eNBs. The one or more eNBs can store the address along with one or more parameters for communicating with the relay eNB. In this regard, disparate eNBs can communicate with the relay eNB by specifying the address in an inter-eNB packet, and upstream eNBs can route the inter-eNB packet to the relay eNB based at least in part on locating the address in a routing table. In this regard, the inter-eNB packets need not pass through the gateway to reach the relay eNB.

摘要: Seamless communication handoff is achieved by establishing a protocol tunnel to route leftover packets between network access nodes during the handoff. For example, in a mobile IP-based system, a mobile node may perform a handoff from a first access node that is associated with a first routing node to a second access node that is associated with a second routing node. To prevent the loss of any packets that may be in route for delivery to or from the first routing node during the handoff, the mobile node establishes a protocol tunnel with the first access node via the second access node. On the forward-link, packets being delivered from the first routing node are routed over the protocol tunnel to the second access node and then to the mobile node. On the reverse-link, packets being sent to the first routing node are routed over the protocol tunnel from the mobile node to the second access node and then to the first routing node. In conjunction with these operations, the mobile node concurrently maintains separate IP interfaces for the routing nodes. In addition, steps are taken to ensure that packets are routed to the appropriate IP interface during the handoff.
