Abstract: Methods and apparatus for a primary role reporting service for resource groups are disclosed. A reporting intermediary assigned to a resource group of a network-accessible service receives role information indicating the identity of a primary member of the group from a state manager of the network-accessible service. The intermediary receives a health status query pertaining to the resource group from a health checking subsystem used by a network address discovery service, and provides a health status response based on the role information. The response provided by the reporting intermediary is used by the network address discovery service to provide a network address in response to a lookup query for the resource group.

Abstract: Cryptographically protected communications sessions are established using a distributed process. A load balancer proxies handshake messages to a first computer system that negotiates a cryptographically protected communications session with the client. When the client and first computer system complete negotiation of the session, the first computer system provides a set of session keys to a second computer system, through the load balancer or another channel. The second computer system then uses the session keys to communicate with the client over the cryptographically protected communications session.

Abstract: Systems and method for the management and processing of resource requests by a service provider, such as a content delivery network (“CDN”) service provider, on behalf of a content provider are provided. The CDN service provider can measure the performance associated with the delivery of resources to a requesting client computing devices from various computing devices associated with the CDN service provider. In one embodiment, a client computing device can execute code, such as scripts, that cause the client computing device to transmit requests to different computing devices associated with the CDN service provider's domain. Information associated with the processing of the responses can be used to measure CDN service provider latencies.

Abstract: Managed multicast communications may be implemented across isolated networks. A virtual traffic hub may be implemented that connects different isolated networks. A control plane for the virtual traffic hub may accept requests to enable a multicast group between different isolated networks connected to the virtual traffic hub. The multicast group may then be enabled at the virtual traffic hub so that requests to add members to the multicast group and data packets directed to the multicast group can be handled according to multicast protocols by the virtual traffic hub.

Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to managing a failover service. The regional management service can receive a list of primary regions and a list of rules for each primary region that must be satisfied for a primary region to be considered available for failover from the respective primary region. The regional management service can then determine the primary regions that satisfy each rule of the list of rules for one or more primary regions and are available for failover of the respective primary regions. The regional management service can then deliver this information to a client. The regional management service can determine the primary regions that do not satisfy one or more of the rules from the list of rules for one or more primary regions and deliver this information to a client. Abstract: A technology is described for prioritizing DNS name resolutions requests received from DNS resolvers. An example method may include identifying a resolver as a public DNS resolver. Receiving a DNS name resolution request from the public DNS resolver. Assigning a priority to the DNS name resolution request received from the public DNS resolver that is lower priority as compared to a priority assigned to DNS name resolution requests received from known DNS resolvers, and providing the DNS name resolution request to the DNS name server according to the priority assigned to the DNS name resolution request.
