Abstract: The present application relates to controlling the use of edge-anchored indications for a UE. In an example, a UE can communicate with an edge entity via a network. The network can determine based on one or a combination of UE authorization or AF authorization whether the related traffic is to be edge-anchored or not. Edge anchoring the traffic can help avoid the UE switching the traffic to an alternate network that may be available to the UE. The network can send an edge-anchored indication to the UE accordingly.

Abstract: Systems and methods for using integrated access and backhaul (IAB) nodes configured to provide multi-access edge computing (MEC) functionality are disclosed herein. An TAB node includes a distributed unit (DU) having a local application instance of a MEC-enabled application. The local application instance is configured for communication with a first user equipment (UE) connected to the TAB node. A mobile termination functionality (MT) of the TAB node uses a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer to transport data of the local application instance between the MT and an IAB donor. Further, data of the local application instance is transported between the UE and the TAB node via one of a variety of methods, including the use of a second PDCP layer at the DU (and optionally the use of service data adaptation protocol (SDAP) layers at each of the DU and the MT), and/or via sidelink.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for emergency communications (e.g., voice calls and/or SMS messages) for UE's without cellular coverage (e.g., in non-cellular coverage). A UE may establish, while out of range of cellular service, a peer-to-peer communication session with a relay UE using a channel in an unlicensed frequency band. The UE may transmit, using the peer-to-peer communication session, an emergency notification to the relay UE. The emergency notification may include an approximate location of the UE. Further the UE may communicate with a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), where the communications may be relayed between the UE and the PSAP by the relay UE. The approximate location of the UE may be based, at least in part, on a location of the relay UE and determining the approximate location of the UE may include performing a ranging procedure with the relay UE.

Abstract: A network device or component such as an access node (AN) can operate to provide a request to obtain a network slice of a network slice as a service (NSaaS) to provide a communication service on the network slice for an end-user device. In response to obtaining the network slice, a network slice customer (NSC) Service identity (ID) associated with the network slice can be determined and provided for a communication service for an application by the end-user device or user equipment (UE). The request can be processed at a network slice provider (NSP) component, in which the network slice can be assigned to the NSC in response to the request by the NSC. The NSP further provides a user equipment (UE) route selection policy (URSP) comprising a traffic descriptor that includes the NSC Service ID to the NSC.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for public land mobile network (PLMN) selection for disaster roaming. A user equipment (UE) determines a disaster condition at a first PLMN, where the UE is a subscriber of the first PLMN. The UE determines an availability of a second PLMN for disaster roaming. The UE selects the second PLMN and attempts registration on the second PLMN for disaster roaming. In response to attempting the registration on the second PLMN for disaster roaming, the UE receives a registration reject message including a cause value corresponding to a registration failure for disaster roaming on the second PLMN due to the disaster condition on the first PLMN. The UE waits for a first period of time before again attempting to register for disaster roaming on the second PLMN for the first PLMN with the disaster condition.
