Abstract:
A mooring system comprising a dock attachment line, a submerging member, a submerged sea anchoring line, a second submerging member and a plurality of craft attachment assemblies. The dock attachment line has a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end is positioned at a dock and the distal end extends therefrom. The submerging member facilitates the submerging of the dock attachment line such that the distal end is positioned below the surface of the water. The submerged sea anchoring line has a first end extending from the distal end of the dock attachment line and a second end spaced apart therefrom. The second submerging member facilitates the submerging of the submerged sea anchoring line. The plurality of craft attachment assemblies extend toward the surface from the submerged sea anchoring line. Each craft attachment assembly includes a first end coupled to the submerged sea anchoring line and a second end directed toward a surface of water positioned thereabove. A buoy is positioned proximate the second end along with a craft attachment assembly which is structurally configured for retaining a watercraft at the surface of water.
Abstract:
An exemplary capacitor has a capacitor stack positioned in a case with a conductor positioned between the case and a lid. In one embodiment the conductor is positioned between the lid and an upper rim of the case and is welded to the lid and case. In one aspect, a capacitor constructed with round wire connectors for interconnecting anode and cathode layers. In one aspect, a configuration for electrically connecting a terminal wire to a capacitor case in which an end of the wire is attached to the case in end-on fashion. The terminal wire may have an expanded end for attaching to the capacitor case in a manner that minimizes the effect on the height profile of the case.
Abstract:
A user of a game system can replace background music from a game with the user's selected background music, while still hearing any other audio streams (e.g. sound effects related to gameplay). A music engine and system audio mixer allow the playback of the user's requested replacement music. The game tags background music streams with an identifier indicating that they are background music, and such streams are muted at the music engine and system audio mixer (if the game is using the provided music engine in order to play the game's audio streams) or by the game if the game is using a game music engine and has received information indicating that a mute request has been issued.
Abstract:
Disclosed are novel bacterial hosts that are capable of high efficiency transformation with methylated and/or unmethylated nucleic acids, and that are bacteriophage resistant. Such bacteria contain: (1) an F′ episome that confers high efficiency transformability; (2) one or more mutations that allow transformation of methylated nucleic acids; (3) one or more mutations that allow transformation with unmethylated nucleic acids; and/or (4) one or more mutations that confer resistance to bacteriophage infection. Also disclosed are methods for transforming such bacteria, and kits that contain such bacteria (e.g., that have been made competent for transformation).
Abstract:
Systems and methods for 3D audio programming and processing are provided wherein digital signal processing (DSP) settings are calculated for 3D audio effects for a digital audio signal independently of DSP rendering of the digital audio signal. Coordinates of locations within a 3D environment representing at least one sound source and at least one audio listener are created and passed (along with other distance modeling parameters) to a DSP settings generator having 3D audio library routines to calculate the DSP settings for 3D audio effects based on the distances between the at least one sound source and at least one audio listener and the distance modeling parameters. Support for positional multi-channel sounds and non point-source emitters is also present.
Abstract:
One aspect provides a capacitor feedthrough assembly having an electrically conductive member dimensioned to extend at least partially through a feedthrough hole of a case of the capacitor, the conductive member having a passage therethrough.
Abstract:
In one aspect, a method of interconnecting two or more foils of a capacitor, the method comprising connecting together one or more anode connection members of one or more anode foils and one or more cathode connection members of one or more cathode foils and electrically isolating the one or more anode foils from the one or more cathode foils.
Abstract:
A system and method for enabling users and developers to store data on a number of different types of local and remote devices connected to a multimedia console or a gaming console. The range of available storage devices creates issues that are addressed to avoid apparent inconsistencies in storage performance (e.g. latency). A consistent method of reading and writing data is provided such that end users and developers do not have to be concerned with restrictions and limitations inherent to various devices.

A system and method for enabling users and developers to store data on a number of different types of local and remote devices connected to a gaming console, a multimedia console or a console that is both gaming and multimedia console. The range of available storage devices creates issues that are addressed to avoid apparent inconsistencies in storage performance (e.g. latency). A consistent method of reading and writing data is provided such that end users and developers do not have to be concerned with restrictions and limitations inherent to various devices.
