    摘要: A vanadium catalyst composition comprising:(i) the reaction product of a vanadium trihalide wherein the halogen is chlorine, bromine, or iodine, or mixtures thereof, and an electron donor, which is a liquid, organic Lewis base in which the vanadium trihalide is soluble;(ii) a silica support onto which component (i) is impregnated;(iii) a salt admixed with the silica support, the cation of said salt being selected from the group consisting of Groups I and II of the Periodic Chart of the Atoms;(v) a halocarbon promoter; and(v) a hydrocarbyl aluminum cocatalyst.

    摘要: A method for smoothly and reliably initiating polymerization of ethylene with a supported chromium oxide catalyst, with smaller amounts of catalyst and in substantially shorter periods of time then heretofore required, by adding an alkylaluminum compound and a hydroxyl-containing compound to the reactor of a polymerization reaction system prior to the commencement of polymerization and subjecting said alkylaluminum compound and hydroxyl-containing compound to suitable conditions of temperature and pressure for a time sufficient for said alkylaluminum compound to react completely with the moisture present in said reactor and said hydroxyl-containing compound.

    摘要: In a process for the preparation of an olefin oxide polymerization catalyst comprising:(i) admixing calcium, ammonia, an alkylene oxide modifier, and an organic nitrile modifier, the alkylene oxide consisting of carbon, hydrogen, and oxirane oxygen atoms and the organic nitrile consisting of carbon, nitrogen, and hydrogen atoms, at least one hydrogen atom being acidic, to form a slurry of modified calcium hexammine in ammonia; and(ii) evaporating ammonia to provide a solid residue,the improvement comprising:aging the solid residue at a temperature in the range of about 150.degree. C. to about 225.degree. C.
