摘要: The subject invention provides a drug delivery device for injecting medicament which includes: a tubular reservoir; a stopper slidably disposed in the reservoir; a spring for moving the stopper in the reservoir; at least one needle, the needle having a distal end for insertion into a patient, and a lumen extending proximally from the distal end, the lumen being in direct or indirect communication with the reservoir; a needle driver for displacing the needle; and, an actuator. Activation of the actuator causes the spring to move the stopper and the needle driver to displace the needle. The needle moves relative to, and separately from, the reservoir with the needle being displaced. Advantageously, with the subject invention, a drug delivery device is provided wherein a needle is moved, relative to the reservoir, in being displaced for injection. This permits control of the needle displacement separate from the reservoir.

摘要: In one aspect, a fixturing member for fixing a source of flowable material relative to a pen injector so as to permit introduction of the flowable material into the pen injector is provided herein. The fixturing member includes a body having a web with opposing proximal and distal faces. A distal wall extends distally from the distal face of the web, with the distal wall at least partially encompassing a distal chamber. Features are formed on the body for removable mounting onto a pen injector. Also, features are formed on the body for mounting onto a source of flowable material, A cannula extends through the web the cannula having proximal and distal ends with a lumen extending therebetween. The distal end of the cannula is located in the distal chamber and positioned such that, with the member being mounted to a pen injector, the distal end is located to be in the pen injector. The proximal end of the cannula is located proximally of the proximally face of the web such that, with the member being mounted to a source of flowable material, the proximal end of the cannula is located to be in communication with the flowable material. Advantageously, with the subject invention, a fixturing member is provided which facilitates mixing of substances in a pen injector in preparing a pen injector for injection.

摘要: A drug delivery device (100), including a body (104, 116) having a reservoir (164, 176) disposed therein for containing a medicament and an injection needle (152) for penetrating the skin of a patient, the needle (152) providing a path for the medicament between the reservoir (164, 176) and the patient. The device (100) also includes a needle cover (114) for selectively covering the injection needle (152), an adhesive (264) for selectively adhering the device to the patient, a release liner (500) for selectively covering a patient side of the adhesive (264), and a connecting means (112, 520, 512, 508, 524) for connecting the needle cover (114) and the release liner (500) such that removal of one of the needle cover (114) and the release liner (500) from the device (100) removes the other one of the needle cover (114) and the release liner (500).

摘要: A plate with housings for receiving objects for bulking, each housing being delimited by lateral walls and comprising a support zone for receiving the object for bulking. Each housing is formed by a cell with the lateral walls delimiting the cells adjoining one another from one cell to an adjacent cell and extending in a direction substantially perpendicular to the plane of the plate. Each cell is shaped to at least partially receive the proximal part of an object for bulking and each cell immobilizes each object for bulking.

摘要: A system and method for a patch-like, self-contained substance infusion device (700) which can be attached to a skin surface via an adhesive contact surface. A push button (780) activation assembly can then be used to remove an interlock (730), allowing a disk or Belleville spring (735) assembly to apply an essentially even and constant pressure to the contents of a fluid reservoir assembly (710). This allows the release of one or more spring-loaded patient needles (760) into the skin surface, and establishes a fluid communication path between the patient needles (760) and the pressurized fluid reservoir contents thereby delivering an infusion into the skin. The push button (780) activation assembly further allows the release of one or more improved safety mechanisms (794) after use.
