摘要: Disclosed is an auto-injector for administering a medicament, comprising: a housing; a cartridge receiver configured to receive a cartridge comprising a first stopper; a drive module coupled to move a plunger rod configured to move the first stopper; a resistance sensor configured to provide a resistance signal indicative of resistance against movement of the plunger rod; and a processing unit coupled to the drive module and to the resistance sensor. The processing unit being configured to: control the drive module to move the plunger rod towards the extended plunger rod position; determine present plunger rod position; receive the resistance signal; determine a cartridge parameter based on the resistance signal and the present plunger rod position; and control the drive module to adjust the movement of the plunger rod based on the cartridge parameter.

摘要: Embodiments of secure wound therapy systems and methods for operating the systems are disclosed. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes a pressure source, a user interface, and a locking mechanism. The locking mechanism can be in one of at least two states, the at least two states including a first state in which the locking mechanism physically prevents user adjustment of one or more operational parameters with the user interface and a second state in which the locking mechanism does not physically prevent user adjustment of the one or more operational parameters with the user interface. The locking mechanism can include an authentication key and a receiver configured to receive an authentication input, which may be compared to the authentication key. Providing a sufficiently matching authentication input can transition the locking mechanism from the first state to the second state, permitting adjustments to the one or more operational parameters.

摘要: An aerosol delivery device is provided that includes at least one housing, a nozzle, a piezoelectric or piezomagnetic material, a control component, and a transport element. The at least one housing may enclose a reservoir configured to retain an aerosol precursor composition. The nozzle may be coupled to the housing to discharge aerosol precursor composition from the reservoir. The control component may include a microprocessor coupled to and configured to drive the piezoelectric or piezomagnetic material to vibrate and cause a discharge of components of the aerosol precursor composition and thereby produce an aerosol for inhalation by a user. And the transport element may be configured to control an amount of aerosol precursor composition delivered from the reservoir.

摘要: A method and device for delivering medications that includes a syringe body, a cartridge nest with an application tip, a plunger actuator, and an electronic lock subassembly adapted for preventing administration of the medication until specific conditions are met. The medicine cartridge may comprise a form of a digital security key and/or physical security to prevent the device from administering medication unless specific configurations and conditions are met. The device may further be adapted with pre-programmed information and may be used with a smartphone, tablet, or computer application. The electronic lock subassembly will only permit the administration of medicine when the patient and/or administrator is verified via facial and voice recognition, biometric identifier, or other unique information. Upon proper permission and/or use of uniquely-keyed and matched components, the device may be used to administer medicine, including injecting medicine into the nasal cavity of a patient.
