摘要： An ECC block is constituted by RS(248,216,33). Of a data length of 216 bytes (symbols), only 16 bytes are allocated to BCA data and the remaining 200 bytes are used for fixed data having a predetermined value. Using the fixed data of 200 bytes and the BCA data of 16 bytes, parities of 32 bytes (symbols) are calculated. Only the BCA data of 16 bytes and the parities of the former 16 bytes of the 32-byte parities, that is, a total of 32 bytes only, are recorded in a burst cutting area of an optical disc. In decoding, error correction processing is carried out by using the fixed data of 200 bytes. The unrecorded parities of 16 bytes are processed as having been erased. Thus, the error correction capability in a burst cutting area of an optical disc can be improved.

The computer unit prohibits communication with the driver unit when the driver unit is judged to be revoked, and communicates with the driver unit when the driver unit is judged not to be revoked.

摘要： The present invention has an objective of providing an optical disk having a high resolution picture and a system for reproducing data on the optical disk, which are compatible with a conventional system for reproducing an ordinary resolution picture. A high resolution signal is divided into a main signal and a sub signal by picture division means and MPEG-encoded. The main signal and the sub signal are divided into frames each having 1 GOP or more. The resultant first interleave block 54 and second interleave block 55 are recorded alternately on an optical disk. A high resolution reproduction apparatus reproduced both the first and second interleave blocks, so that a high resolution picture is obtained. A non-high resolution reproduction apparatus reproduces only the first or second interleave block, so that an ordinary resolution picture.

摘要： In an information input/output system, a user device inputs and outputs information to and from external sources including a key management device. The system includes the key management device that securely outputs invalid-device information specifying an invalid device unit that has been made invalid for use, and the user device that includes an input/output unit and a host unit. Via the input/output unit, input and output of information is enabled between the host unit and the external sources. The host unit securely receives, via the input/output unit, the invalid-device information outputted by the key management device and judges whether or not the input/output unit is an invalid device unit by referring to the received invalid-device information. When judging, that the input/output unit is an invalid device, the host unit thereafter prohibits input and output via the input/output unit. Due to this construction, the host unit can correctly judge whether or not the input/output unit is an invalid device unit.

When a heading pattern is detected during the cryptographic processing of an input signal DI, a reset/input enable signal generation circuit 60 switches an input enable signal IE to a disabled state, and outputs a reset signal RST after Lhe cryptographic processing has been completed.
