摘要: A collision alarm method and apparatus for vehicles in which, in order to detect and alarm of danger of collision, the time of possible collision is calculated by a danger judgement means from optical flow. In order for an image processing means to detect the optical flow, a horizontal or vertical noticeable edge is used, which edge is extracted from two images obtained at different times with an image photographing means. The collision alarm method and apparatus for vehicles detect danger of collision at high speed and gives a timely alarm so as to enable collision avoiding action to be securely taken.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method for sizing of paper by using a particular vinylamine polymer as a size-fixing aid. By the use of the vinylamine polymer as a size-fixing aid, it has become possible to obtain a paper having superior sizing properties by papermaking at a pH around neutrality using a hitherto known acidic sizing agents without using a neutral sizing agent. The method of the present invention further has effects that operating efficiency of papermaking is greatly improved since contaminations of a papermaking machine due to a neutral agent can be avoided, and therefore, the prices of paper can be greatly lowered. The present method has further advantages when it is applied under acidic papermaking condition of a pH of less than 5.5. In such a condition, the addition amount of alum can be decreased and the life of a papermaking machine can be prolonged. In spite of a small amount of alum added, a considerably good sizing effect can be obtained by the present method.

摘要: A facsimile machine has a remote control operation mode in which functions in the facsimile machine are remotely activated based on an ID code supplied from a remote telephone terminal. The facsimile machine includes a memory which stores the ID code, and controller a having a first function for determining whether or not an erroneous ID code which differs from the ID code stored in the memory is supplied from the remote telephone terminal, a second function for counting a number of times that the erroneous ID code is supplied from the remote telephone terminal based on a first determination result obtained by the first function, and a third function for determining whether or not the remote control operation mode can be activated based on the number of times counted by the second function. The remote control operation mode is prohibited from being used in the facsimile machine when the third function has determined that the remote control operation mode cannot be activated.
