摘要: A gas injection type plasma X-ray source has a gas plenum for storing a discharging gas at a pressure in the range of 150 Torr and 1000 Torr, the stored gas being injected between a pair of electrodes through a gas valve. The electrodes are opposed to each other in a vacuum vessel, so that a gas jet for the production of a plasma is formed. A voltage is applied between the electrodes, so that a discharge plasma is produced between said electrodes. A linear plasma with a high temperature and a high density is produced by the pinch of the plasma due to its own magnetic field produced by the current flowing through the plasma, so that X-rays are emitted from the linear plasma. The X-ray source has a high conversion efficiency and a high discharge timing margin, and accordingly the stability and reproducibility of discharges are improved and the X-ray output is increased.

摘要: A reading device including a reader, a position reference member, and circuitry. The position reference member has a reference pattern along a first direction of the position reference member. The circuitry is configured to detect the reference pattern of the position reference member; determine coordinates of at least two pixels in the second direction, based on the detected reference pattern; calculate a first correction value based on the coordinates determined for the at least two pixels of the reader in the second direction; detect an outer shape and a position of an image pattern on the conveyed object based on data read by the reader; obtain a difference between an image of the conveyed object, of which a shape has been corrected, and an image of the conveyed object, of which a shape has not been correction; and set a second correction value based on the obtained difference.

摘要: An image forming device, which is included in an image forming apparatus, includes an image reader, a sheet conveyance passage, a transparent body, an opposing body, and multiple curved opposing portions. The image reader is configured to read an image formed on a target object. The sheet conveyance passage is a passage through which the target object is conveyed. The transparent body is disposed between the sheet conveyance passage and the image reader. The opposing body is disposed facing the transparent body on a side opposite the image reader. The multiple curved opposing portions have respective outwardly curving reference planes. The multiple curved opposing portions are sequentially switched and located at a predetermined image reading position at which the multiple curved opposing portions face the transparent body with a gap through which the target object passes the predetermined image reading position.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an information obtainer, a memory, a candidate determining unit, and an image forming device. The information obtainer obtains feature information from the target recording medium. The memory stores at least one set of recording medium information regarding the target recording medium associated with the feature information and at least one set of image forming condition information corresponding to the recording medium information. The recording medium information is identification information. The candidate determining unit determines a candidate recording medium information from the recording medium information stored in the memory based on the feature information of the target recording medium obtained by the information obtainer. The image forming device forms an image on the target recording medium based on the image forming condition information in the memory according to the candidate recording medium information determined by the candidate determining unit.

摘要: A plasma generator includes: a liquid containing part containing water; a gas containing part; and a partition wall part that separates the liquid containing part and the gas containing part and is provided with a gas passage through which the gas in the gas containing part is led to the liquid containing part. The plasma generator is also provided with a first electrode arranged in the gas containing part and a second electrode arranged to be in contact with the liquid in the liquid containing part. The plasma generator is further provided with: a gas supply unit which supplies the gas to the gas containing part; a plasma power supply unit; and a projected part which serves as a drainage promotion part that prevents the liquid from remaining in the gas passage after the liquid in the liquid containing part is drained.

摘要: An imaging apparatus includes a histogram shape determination unit that acquires a histogram of luminance values from video captured by an image capturing unit and determines whether or not the captured video is a night scene from the shape of the histogram. The imaging apparatus also includes a point light source determination unit that acquires the maximum value of contrast for each horizontal line in the video as a line evaluation value and determines whether the captured video is a night scene based on whether or not the line evaluation value has a characteristic of an object as a point light source. If the histogram shape determination unit and the point light source determination unit determine that the captured video is a night scene, the imaging apparatus determines that the scene captured by the image capturing unit is a night scene.

摘要: An image pickup apparatus such as a video camera has the capability of automatic white balance control whereby the white balance is quickly adjusted for any object even just after an operator has turned on a power supply. An image pickup element converts an optical image of an object into an electrical image signal. The image signal is applied to a signal processing circuit and separated into a luminance signal and color signals. The separated color signals or the R and B signals are amplified by gain control circuits under the control of the correction signals supplied by a correction signal computing part, and then applied to a color-difference signal forming circuit which in turn produces color-difference signals (R-Y) and (B-Y). An encoder circuit generates a television signal in the standard form from the above color-difference signals and the luminance signal. In this processing, the white balance is adjusted according to a white balance control signal generated on the basis of information about a state of illuminance onto an object picked up last time and stored in a data storing part.

摘要: A method for determining chemosensitivity of a malignant tumor cell to anthracycline is described herein. According to this method, first tumor cell and second tumor sell are first prepared. The first tumor cell is not treated with anthracycline, and on the other the second tumor cell is treated with anthracycline. Secondly, first and second activity levels of CDK1 are measured. The first activity level is activity of CDK1 in the first tumor cell and the second activity level is that of CDK1 in the second tumor cell. Finally, chemosensitivity of the malignant tumor cell is determined. The determination is based on the first and second activity levels.
