Abstract:
A method for receiving a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising acquiring, by the UE, a predetermined system information block (SIB) from a base station (BS); and upon acquiring the predetermined SIB, transmitting an MBMS interest indication message by the UE to the BS. The predetermined SIB includes information related to MBMS service continuity. Whether the transmitting of the MBMS interest indication message is allowed is provided to the UE through the predetermined SIB.
Abstract:
Radio link Failure (RLF) reporting operation in a wireless communication system using multiple cells is disclosed. According to this operation, when a first cell and a second cell are simultaneously connected to a UE and the first cell and the second cell are of different base stations (a first base station and a second base station respectively), if the RLF with the UE on the first cell is detected by the first base station, the first base station may transmits an indication of the RLF with the UE on the first cell to the second base station.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting a message in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment (UE) submits a message to a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer and a radio link control (RLC) layer, detects a radio link failure or a handover failure, checks whether the RLC layer receives acknowledgement (ACK) to the message from the network, reestablishes the connection with the network, and retransmits the message upon the reestablishment if the RLC layer does not receive the ACK to the message.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for receiving system information in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment (UE) receives a system information modification from an eNodeB (eNB) on a UE-dedicated channel via a radio resource control (RRC) connection reconfiguration message, and receives at least one system information block from the enB according to system information modification.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for receiving extended access barring (EAB) parameters in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment (UE) receives an EAB parameter, and receives an EAB parameter modification. The received EAB parameter is invalidated upon receiving the EAB parameter modification. The UE also waits for applying EAB until modified EAB parameter is received, and receives the modified EAB parameter.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus of establishing a connection in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment (UE) receives first barring information for member UEs and second barring information for non-member UEs, determines whether the UE is able to access to a cell or not based on one of the first barring information and the second barring information according to whether the UE is either a member UE or a non-member UE, and transmits an access request if it is determined that the UE is able to access to the cell.
Abstract:
A method for and apparatus for configuring a DRX (Discontinuous Reception) operation in a wireless communication system is provided. A wireless device configures that it does not to monitor a PDCCH during a Scheduling Request (SR) pending period by receiving an indication. The wireless device also modifies that an Active Time does not include the SR pending period depending on the indication, so that the DRX operation can be configured for battery saving purpose more efficiently.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus of measuring a packet throughput using a timer in a wireless communication system are provided. When determining a reference time for estimating packet throughput, a receiver determines the time that a data burst starts or ends using a timer in order to estimate the packet throughput considering a change in the data burst of the transmitter buffer. A measurement period is defined through the determined start time and end time of the data burst by the timer, and packet throughput is measured considering the total amount of the received data burst. The throughput of packet data may be estimated by each base station based on the same standard rule, so that the measured packet throughput values may be reliable, thus allowing the operator to make use of it as a parameter for MDT.
Abstract:
According to an embodiment of the present specification, a method of performing a measurement on one or more of a serving cell and a neighboring cell is provided. The method may include: measuring signal quality for a neighboring node; scaling-down or scaling-up parameter values that trigger the transmission of a measurement report according to measurement results; and transmitting the measurement report.
Abstract:
A method for controlling identification of a cell in a communication system may be proposed. The method may include: setting a cell by using a first cell index in user equipment (UE); receiving, by the UE, a control signal indicating that a cell index is changed from the first cell index to a second cell index; and setting the cell by using the second cell index without releasing the cell by the UE.
