摘要: The exemplary embodiments of the invention utilize techniques that provide an amount of scheduling flexibility for retransmissions (e.g., downlink HARQ retransmissions) while also limiting the amount of time within which a UE can expect retransmissions. Thus, the network retains scheduling flexibility while the UE can still operate in DRX, for example. In one exemplary embodiment, a method includes: receiving an initial transmission of information; and receiving a retransmission of the information, where the retransmission is received within a window of time having a predetermined duration, where the window of time is arranged to begin at a predetermined time or after a predetermined time interval. In further exemplary embodiments, the predetermined duration of the window of time is measured using a DRX retransmission timer and/or the predetermined time or the predetermined time interval is measured using a HARQ RTT timer.

摘要: Mobility in E-UTRAN might not rely on neighbor cell list. In such a case, the user equipment (UE) may be responsible for finding cells and reporting to the network. Consequently signaling load may be increased and also handover (HO) performance can be degraded for the cases in which the target cell proposed by the UE is not good. Certain embodiments of the present invention give the operator some control of the signaling load and HO performance by providing a list of forbidden cells with regard to which the UE does not have to search and report.

摘要: Apparatus, methods and computer program products operate an electronic device to receive through from a wireless communications network a prioritized list of radio access technologies; to store the prioritized list of radio access technologies in a memory of the electronic device; and to consult the prioritized list of radio access technologies during cell selection and reselection operations. In variants the radio access technologies listed in the prioritized list of radio access technologies can be E-UTRAN, UTRAN or GERAN. In a further variant to consult the prioritized list may mean to compare at least one of a signal measurement and a quality measurement with at least one threshold established for a certain radio access technology appearing in the prioritized list, and to select/reselect to the certain radio access technology only if the at least one of the signal measurement and the quality measurement exceeds the threshold.

摘要: An assignment of an uplink resource on which to send an uplink synchronization signal is transmitted to a user equipment. The user equipment sends on the uplink resource an uplink synchronization signal. From the uplink synchronization signal is determined a timing advance for the user equipment. Various indications are used to indicate to the user equipment that the assignment of uplink resources is for the purpose of sending its synchronization signal, such as expiration of its timing advance timer, a field in the allocation table that assigns the uplink resources, or explicit signaling from the network. Methods, devices, and computer program products are detailed for both network and user equipment embodiments.

摘要: The invention relates to an improved method and arrangement for controlling a cell change performed by a terminal of a cellular radio system. In particular the invention relates to a cell change in a situation where the terminal is connected to a special service provided by its current cell, e.g. to the GPRS service (General Packet Radio Service). An essential idea of the invention is that in conjunction with a cell change order a base station sends to the terminal information about whether the terminal is allowed not to carry out the cell change order if the terminal does not know the timing information of the new cell assigned to it. This information is advantageously sent in a signalling message of a certain service, such as the GPRS service. It is an advantage of the invention that a terminal connected to a certain service will not make unnecessary cell change attempts which are doomed to fail. The invention helps direct the cell change in such a manner that the load caused by possible repeated cell change attempts on the terminal and radio signalling is low.

摘要: Disclosed herein are apparatus, method and computer program product providing 3.9G mobile-assisted cell change. During an active state of user equipment, it is determined whether at least one trigger condition exists. If at least one trigger condition is determined to be present, the user equipment performs an autonomous cell change. Alternatively, if at least one trigger condition is determined not to be present, the user equipment performs a cell change under network control (non-autonomous).
