    摘要: The present invention provides a method and apparatus that features initiating a device discovery process for attempting to establish a connection between two or more devices via short range communications technology, wherein at least one of the two or more devices having an existing link to another wireless network; and suspending the link to the other wireless network before starting the device discovery. One of the devices may be a node, point or terminal, including a station or access point. The wireless network may include a wireless local area network (WLAN), Bluetooth® (BT), ultra wide band (UWB), wireless USB or other suitable wireless network either now known or later developed in the future. The short range communications technology may include Bluetooth®, as well as other short range communications technology either now known or later developed in the future.

    摘要: A new and unique method or apparatus for power savings in a node, point, terminal or device in a wireless local area network (WLAN), or other suitable network, featuring one or more steps for delaying forwarding one or more data packets from a WLAN chipset to a host processor based on information received by the WLAN chipset about whether the host processor is in a sleep state. The host processor has a clock request pin to indicate when it is in the sleep state. The WLAN chipset has a pin that is connected to a sleep state signal of the host processor so that the WLAN chipset knows when it can wake up the host processor or not. The WLAN chipset has an internal threshold timer to fulfil latency requirements for delivering packets to the host processor.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method for arranging handover in a wireless telecommunications system. Connection settings are stored in a terminal, wherein at least one network identifier is associated with alternative connection settings, the network identifier identifying a target network reachable by a connection from the terminal. The network identifier associated with the currently applied connection settings is compared with the network identifiers associated with the other available connection settings. The connection settings associated with the same network identifier as the one associated with the currently applied connection settings are then selected. The handover may then be carried out by using the selected connection settings.
