Abstract: A vehicular control system includes an antenna array disposed at a vehicle. The antenna array emits a beam external the vehicle. A forward viewing camera is disposed at a windshield of the vehicle and views forward of the vehicle through the windshield. A control includes an image processor operable to process image data captured by the camera. The control, responsive at least in part to processing by the image processor of image data captured by the camera, determines a weather condition and/or a driving condition at the vehicle. The control may adjust the beam emitted by the antenna array responsive to determination of the weather condition and/or driving condition at the vehicle. The control may adjust power of the beam and/or a beam pattern of the beam responsive to determination of the weather condition and/or driving condition at the vehicle.

Abstract: A vision system for a vehicle includes a camera disposed at the vehicle and having a field of view exterior of the vehicle. The camera includes a lens and an imager. A control includes a processor that processes image data captured by the camera. A light emitting device includes at least one light emitting diode. The light emitting device, when the at least one light emitting diode is powered, emits near infrared light at a region encompassed by the field of view of the camera. The control, responsive to processing of image data captured by the camera, determines an ambient light level exterior the vehicle. The control, responsive to the determined ambient light level, automatically controls intensity of the near infrared light emitted by the light emitting device.

Abstract: A vehicular vision and alert system includes a camera disposed at a windshield of a vehicle so as to have a field of view forward of the vehicle as the vehicle travels along a traffic lane of a road. As the vehicle travels along the road, the system may determine, via processing by an image processor of image data captured by the camera, traffic traveling along another traffic lane and may generate a traffic alert indicative of the determined traffic. As the vehicle travels along the road, the system may determine, via processing of captured image data, a vehicle accident involving another vehicle and may transmit an accident alert communication to a remote system. As the vehicle travels along the road, the system may determine, via processing of captured image data, a traffic jam index representative of a degree of traffic traveling along the other traffic lane.

Abstract: A method for determining trailer angle includes determining angles of a trailer hitch relative to a data recording device via an angle measuring device while the trailer hitch pivots about a hitch ball of the device. While the trailer hitch pivots about the hitch ball of the device, trailer hitch information is determined responsive to processing of captured image data and responsive to determined angles of the trailer hitch. After determining trailer hitch information, data representative of the determined information is provided to an electronic device, which is disposed at a vehicle having a rear backup camera that has a field of view that encompasses a hitch ball of the vehicle and at least a portion of a hitch of a trailer hitched to the vehicle. Using the provided data, and responsive to processing of captured image data, an angle of the trailer relative to the vehicle is determined.

Abstract: A vehicular surround vision system includes a plurality of vehicle cameras disposed at a vehicle and having respective fields of view exterior the vehicle, a trailer camera disposed at a rear of a trailer and having a field of view rearward of the trailer, and a display device in the vehicle. An electronic control unit (ECU) receives image data captured by the plurality of vehicle cameras. The display device displays surround view images responsive to the ECU. With the trailer hitched to the vehicle, the ECU receives image data captured by the trailer camera and the display device displays surround view images responsive to the ECU, with the displayed surround view images derived from image data captured by the trailer camera and at least some of the vehicle cameras.

Abstract: A parking assist system for a vehicle includes a rear backup camera and a control having an image processor that processes image data captured by the rear backup camera. The control, when the vehicle is driven forward into a parking slot and responsive to image processing of captured image data, determines a parking slot marker at a side boundary of the parking slot at which the vehicle is being parked. The system may include a display screen that displays images representative of the vehicle at a determined orientation relative to the determined parking slot marker so a driver of the vehicle can determine whether or not the vehicle is aligned in the parking slot. The control may determine a degree of misalignment of the vehicle relative to the parking slot and may generate an output to alert the driver that the vehicle is not aligned in the parking slot.

Abstract: A lane determining system for a vehicle includes a camera disposed at the vehicle so as to have a field of view forward of the vehicle. The camera captures image data. The control, responsive to processing of captured sensor data, detects road-embedded elements disposed along the road. The control determines at least the lane along which the vehicle is traveling based on the detected lane markers or the detected road-embedded elements.

Abstract: A communication system for vehicles includes a first communication device disposed at a first vehicle and a second communication device disposed at a second vehicle. The first communication device wirelessly transmitting data indicative of a predicted path of travel of the first vehicle, and the second communication device receives the transmitted data from the first communication device. A control of the second vehicle processes data received from the first communication device and data indicative of a predicted path of travel of the second vehicle to determine a potential collision between the first vehicle and the second vehicle during a turning maneuver of one of the first and second vehicles toward the other of the first and second vehicles. Responsive to determination of a likelihood of collision between the first vehicle and the second vehicle, the control generates an alert to a driver of the second vehicle.

Abstract: A system for mitigating contamination of a lens of an exterior vehicular camera includes a passive air flow device disposed at the vehicle and configured to passively direct air flow across an outer surface of a lens of the camera to establish a passive air stream curtain. An active air flow device is operable to actively propel air across the outer surface of the lens of the camera to establish an active air stream curtain. A control is operable to activate and deactivate the active air flow device. When the vehicle is driven at a speed of travel below a threshold level, the control activates the active air flow device to actively propel air across the outer surface of the lens of the camera. When the vehicle is in motion, the passive air stream curtain deflects polluting particles away from the outer surface of the lens of the camera.
