    摘要: There is disclosed a projector which supplies air cooled by a cooling unit to an optical element group, whereby the occurrence of dew condensation is prevented. The projector includes a cooling apparatus 11 disposed in a main body 1 and functioning as the cooling unit; a sealed or substantially sealed duct 30 through which cold air cooled by a cooler 18 of the cooling apparatus 11 is circulated and supplied to an optical element group 5 to cool the optical element group; an outside air introduction port 32 and an air discharge port 33 which function as a ventilation unit for introducing outside air into this duct 30 to discharge the air from the duct 30, dampers 34 and 35 for opening and closing these ports; and a controller C functioning as a control unit for controlling the dampers 34 and 35 to execute a ventilating operation in the duct 30.

The lighting unit also includes: the prisms 50 and 60 combining the light emitted from the DMDs 80R, 80G, and 80B; and the light modulating optical device 90G. The incident light including the green component light and the yellow component light enters the light modulating optical device 90G. The light modulating optical device 90G transmits the green component light and changes a transmittance of the yellow component light depending on a change of a molecular state. Light having emitted from the light modulating optical device 90G enters the DMD 80G, which corresponds to the incident light.

    摘要: A projection type video display apparatus is provided with an LED array for emitting light in red, an LED array for emitting light in green, and an LED array for emitting light in blue. On a light-incident side of a rod integrator, time-dividing mirrors 2A, 2B arranged in a cross manner, for guiding the light from each LED array to an inside of the rod integrator, are arranged. Furthermore, on a light-emission side of the LED array for emitting the light in red, a time-diving mirror is arranged, and on a light-emission side of the LED array for emitting the light in blue, a time-dividing mirror is provided. Each time-dividing mirror switch either to reflect the light or to transmit the light, depending on whether or not voltage is applied thereto. At time-dividing lighting timing of the LED arrays, the time-dividing mirrors switch either to reflect the light or to transmit the light. In addition, video signals of videos of respective colors are supplied to a liquid crystal display panel in a time-dividing manner.
