    摘要: An optically based resonating sensor useful for detecting and discriminating specified substances present in the environment is provided. The resonating sensor comprises a light source and a coupler adapted to allow light to pass from the light source to a resonator wherein the light is stored for a specified period of time. The resonator is coupled to the coupler such that some portion of the light passing through the coupler enters the resonator and some portion of the light resonating within the resonator exits the resonator to the coupler. The outer surface of the resonator is modified such that the interaction of the modified outer surface of the resonator with a specified substance in the environment alters some characteristic of the light flowing through the sensor system. A detector is arranged to observe and detect the interactions between the modified outer surface and the light flowing through the system.

    摘要: The embodiments of the invention disclose an object determining method, a portable device, an object displaying method, an object switching method and an electronic device. Said method is applied to a touch sensitive portable device. Identifications of multiple objects are displayed within a display area of said portable device. Each of the identifications of said multiple objects has a first status of being selected and a second status of being unselected. Said display area has a first area, the identification of a first object is displayed in the first area, and the first object is in the first status. Said method comprises: obtaining a switch instruction; moving the identification of the first object of the first area, switching the identification of the first object from the first status to the second status, moving the identification of the second object into the first area, and switching the identification of the second object from the second status to the first status according to the switch instruction. The embodiments of the invention can simplify the steps of the user's operation.

A process module is used to calculate a first result indicating the coordinate of the pointing object according to the data acquired by the touch acquisition module when the start location of the touch operation is in the first area, and to calculate a second result indicating the movement of the pointing object according to the data acquired by the touch acquisition module when the start location of the touch operation is in the second area.

    摘要: The present invention relates to an optical switch. The optical switch includes at least two binary control elements movable between a first and second position. The binary control elements include an at least one angle tuning element for adjusting the pathway of an optical signal. With a binary control element in the first position, the angle tuning element is able to adjust the pathway of an optical signal. With the binary control element in a second position, the angle tuning element is not able to adjust the optical pathway of an optical signal. The optical switch of the present invention can also concurrently switch multiple optical signals in parallel.

Alternatively, the adiabatic coupler may comprise a core surrounded by a cladding, wherein the refractive index of at least one of the core and the cladding varies over the length of the adiabatic coupler.

    摘要: A mine roof support system includes an elongated anchor rod or tendon having a rigid non-deformable distalmost anchoring end portion, and one or more axially deformable portions which are configured to deform in the event load forces exceed a threshold force approximating the forces during a rock burst or rock dilation event. The rigid anchoring portion is provided with primary anchor members such as ribs, grooves, studs and the like. The primary anchor members are configured to reduce bar plasticity, and fixedly secure and retain the rigid portion in place in a drill hole. In the event rock forces exceed the threshold force, the plastically deformable portions elongate with the dilating rock to accommodate and absorb the rock forces.

The spacer layer is subjected to a directional etch so as to form sidewall spacers adjacent the plurality of transistor gate structures, and a horizontal fill portion of the spacer layer remains in one more recesses present in the STI regions so as to substantially planarize the STI region prior to subsequent material deposition thereon.
