The tube has an evaporation region for receiving heat to evaporate the working fluid into a vaporized working fluid within the chamber disposed between a first condensation region and a second condensation region opposite the first condensation region for condensing the vaporized working fluid back into a liquefied working fluid within the chamber. Each of the condensation regions have a first portion extending upwardly at a first angle from the evaporation region and a second portion extending upwardly at a second angle different than the first angle.

    摘要: An evaporatively pre-cooled seat assembly comprising a seat cushion, an auxiliary cooler, and an evaporative cooler. The evaporative cooler includes a plurality of parallel tubular dry channels and a plurality of tubular wet channels. The dry channels and wet channels are arranged such that they alternate from dry channel to wet channel from channel to channel. Each of the channels is defined by two parallel side walls, a top, and a bottom. A first plurality of dry channels defines a plurality of apertures in the side walls thereof for conveying air out of the respective dry channel and into an adjacent wet channel. A second plurality of dry channels alternates with the first plurality and is disposed between two wet channels and defines a plurality of cooler apertures in the tops thereof for conveying cooled air out of the second plurality of alternating dry channels and to the auxiliary cooler.

    摘要: An heat exchanger assembly includes a plurality of tubes defining a plurality of parallel refrigerant passages therein carrying a refrigerant longitudinally from an inlet header to an outlet header. Water flows from a reservoir through a distributor apparatus to provide even wetting between the ends of the tubes as the water flows laterally over the tubes between an entry edge and an exit edge. A screen is provided adjacent the exit edge to collect excess water to be deposited into a water tray provided beneath and spaced from the exit edge of the tubes. A pump is provided to move water from the water tray to the reservoir to preserve water. If excess water is lost, such as through evaporation, a supplemental water feed line provides supplemental water to the system.

Opposing sides extend along a housing axis (AH) between an open entrance end and an open exit end. A heat exchanger axis (AHEX) extends diagonally across the housing at an acute angle to the housing axis (AH). The heat exchanger axis (AHEX) defines a wedge-shaped entrance air plenum and a wedge-shaped exit air plenum. The headers are sealed for directing air through the air passages and across the cooling tubes. The pump is disposed within the wedge-shaped entrance air plenum.

    摘要: A heat sink for an electrical device is distinguished by a confining plate extending parallel to and along each lateral side of fins and extending upwardly from a top surface of a base to a bottom surface of a lid to define an outlet-chamber extending from the outer ends of the fins and outside of the fins back toward a vertical nozzle. A cylindrical outlet is disposed on the inlet axis outwardly of each of the confining plates for directing fluid flow on each side of the fins. The outer wall presents a pair of oppositely facing apexes and the outer wall curves outwardly from each apex in opposite directions in a generally heart-shape around and spaced from the fins and back into the outlets to define the outlet-chambers which increase in volume from the ends of the fins back toward the outlets to reduce the fluid pressure. In an alternative embodiment, a horizontal nozzle is disposed between each of the outlets and the vertical nozzle for directing fluid flow horizontally into the fluid flow emitted from the vertical nozzle.

In one approach, the detection devices include a pair of conductors separated by a wicking material impregnated with a crystalline salt that provides a low resistance electrical path between the conductors in the presence of a leak. In another approach, the detection devices include a pair of dissimilar metal mesh electrodes separated by an electrolyte-impregnated wicking material to form a water-activated battery that energizes an alarm in the presence of a leak. In either case, the electrodes and wicking material may be encased with a water-activated sealing material that hardens in the presence of a leak to contain the leakage.

    摘要: A portable air filtration system includes a filter housing having an air inlet and an air outlet. The filter housing defines a filtration chamber between the air inlet and the air outlet. The portable air filtration system uses an ionizing mechanism, a filter media, and an electrode to filter air. The ionizing mechanism ionizes particles within the air to a negative charge. The filter media is disposed between the ionizing mechanism and the air outlet for entrapping the particles. The electrode is disposed between the ionizing mechanism and the filter media to establish an electric field. The electric field is established between the ionizing mechanism and the electrode adjacent to the filter media. The electrode is also electrically-connected to ground and to the filter media for dissipating the negative charge of the particles entrapped within the filter media.
