摘要： An image display apparatus includes a light source for emitting a plurality of light beams arranged in a direction corresponding to a sub-scanning direction, a light source driver for individually modulating intensities of the plurality of light beams; a light scanning unit for performing main scanning and sub-scanning; an image display screen for receiving the plurality of light beams scanned in the main and sub-scanning directions; and a controller, wherein, in one frame period, a distance of movement of the light irradiation positions on the image display screen moved by one sub-scanning is a distance obtained by multiplying an interval between adjacent two scanning lines in the sub-scanning direction on the image display screen by a predetermined integer which is an integer smaller than number of the plurality of light beams arranged in the direction corresponding to the sub-scanning direction.

摘要： A Fresnel lens collimates a light modulated by an image signal and outputs a collimated light. A diffusion member diffuses the collimated light and outputs a diffused light. A driver continually moves the Fresnel lens or the diffusion member on a predetermined trajectory within a plane parallel with a screen. A spring member couples the Fresnel lens or the diffusion member with a casing, including a first deformation plane flexible in a first direction within the plane, and a second deformation plane flexible in a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction within the plane, while it is not flexible in a direction perpendicular to the plane.

摘要： A light diffusion element includes a liquid-crystal diffusion layer that variably diffuses an amount of light depending on an applied voltage, a first electrode that is laid on a plane of the light diffusion layer and made of a first and a second segmented-electrodes, a second electrode that is laid on the other plane of the light diffusion layer, a voltage applying unit that generates and applies two types of voltages, and a voltage changing unit that varies the two types of voltages. One of the voltages is applied between the first segmented-electrodes and the second electrode, and the other between the second segmented-electrodes and the second electrode. Both the segmented-electrodes are included in each pixel.

摘要： An image display projector and a method of displaying images are provided so as to enable reducing the occurrence of scintillation. The image display projector comprises: an optical engine for emitting light according to an inputted imaging signal; a Fresnel lens disposed to receive the light emitted from the optical engine, for emitting the incident light as collimated one; a diffusion member, placed in a position frontal to the Fresnel lens in the light-traveling direction, for emitting diffused light, by diffusing the collimated light emitted from the Fresnel lens; and a drive unit for moving either the Fresnel lens or the diffusion member, along a predetermined track (orbit), in a plane parallel to either the one from which the collimated light is emitted or the one from which the diffused light is emitted. And then, the moving velocity of either the Fresnel lens or the diffusion member is at any moment larger than zero in any direction within the parallel plane.
