摘要: A SFP checking device (SFP Check) connects to a SFP transceiver and a PC or laptop via a USB cable. The SFP Check uses the default web browser of the PC, without an internet connection, to display details of the SFP transceiver such as wavelength, description, range, manufacturer, among other information, in accordance with program code provided to the PC via the SFP Check. All of the information a technician in the field needs to determine which SFP transceiver is the right one for a selected application and optical link is available from the SFP Check. The SFP Check and SFP transceiver both receive power via the USB cable connection to the PC. The SFP Check appears to the PC as a memory stick. A method is provided for determining the drive letter associated with the SFP Check and the program coder or file(s) it provides to the PC.

摘要: The present invention provides a portable fire pit to be used in conjunction with particularly sized fuel blocks, whereby these fuel blocks are manually positioned in a square-shaped configuration around ventilation holds provided through the base of the fire pit. Alignment flanges on the base provide a positioning and alignment brace structure for the fuel blocks, which are fitted into an abutting relationship with the alignment flanges and one another on the base. The ventilation holes are formed to align with an inner chimney formed by the positioning of the fuel blocks. This chimney is formed over the ventilation holes to allow the fire to burn from the chimney outwardly through the blocks and thereby provide an efficient burning of the fuel.

摘要: A system and method allowing wager(s) to be placed over a wireless network using a remote device by authenticating an established user account, and validating the location of the player using network centric data. The player utilizes the remote device, which may be a cell phone or remote computing device, connected securely to a wagering system over a wireless network (e.g., 3G). Depending on the type of game, player location is determined using A-GPS and/or control plane technology utilizing carrier network information. Wagers may be placed using verbal instructions or keypad entries which communicate with a voice recognition system, dedicated software application, live operator and/or web browser based application. Regardless of the wager placement methodology, the remote device is linked to a wager server and location verification is specific to the subject remote device connected thereto. Other methods of verifying location are utilized as safeguards against spoofing and remote operation.

摘要: A fluid preheater (10) includes a body (12) having an interior wall (28) defining a chamber (42) and having an inlet (50) and an outlet (52). One or more heaters (18) are disposed in the wall (28), but not exposed to the chamber (42). The chamber (42) has one or more baffles that cause turbulence in the flow of fluid through the chamber (42) from the inlet (50) to the outlet (52) in order to increase the exposure of the fluid to heat from the heaters (18, 64).

摘要: A system for providing a catalyst to a first flow of gas. The first flow of gas has an operating pressure. A pipe carries the first flow of gas from a compressor of a turbocharger to a combustion chamber. The operating pressure of the first flow of gas varies in accordance with an operation of the compressor. The system includes an enclosure, a pump, and an atomizer. The enclosure receives a portion of the first flow of gas at the operating pressure. The pump is positioned in the enclosure. The pump receives from within the enclosure the portion of the first flow of gas. The pump provides the portion of the first flow of gas at a second pressure. Any gas that exits the enclosure is provided by the pump at the second pressure. The atomizer receives a solution having the catalyst and provides a vapor having the catalyst. The portion of the first flow of gas at the second pressure carries the vapor out of the system and into the first flow of gas for delivery to the combustion chamber. A magnitude of the second pressure comprises a magnitude of the operating pressure plus a magnitude of a pressure increase provided by the pump.

摘要: An OC3 to three DS3 SONET multiplexer is provided employing a field programmable gate array and other components in a single Type 400 mechanics card to achieve a form factor that is substantially reduced when compared to existing SONET multiplexers. The OC3 to three DS3 SONET multiplexer has integral optical redundancy and automated provisioning. Manual switches are provided to select continue/drop and line build out for each DS3. Switches are also provided for loopback options. The face plate for the multiplexer provides front access to all of the OC3 and DS3 connectors. The multiplexer is interchangeable with DS3 to DS1 multiplexer cards and WDM cards in a compact M13 SONET enclosure that is particularly useful at wireless cell sites.

摘要: The apparatus includes a fiber comprising an axial center, a central single-mode waveguiding core and a plurality of peripheral single-mode waveguiding cores. The central core is located at a first distance from the axial center. The plurality of peripheral cores is located at respective second distances from the axial center. Each of the respective second distances is greater than the first distance, and each peripheral core of the plurality of peripheral cores follows a respective first helix about the axial center. The central core and the plurality of peripheral cores include an optical strain sensor rosette.
