摘要: A hand control assembly for an intravascular catheter system includes a controller and a plurality of spaced apart hand-actuated members. The intravascular catheter system includes a control console that is configured to be positioned on a support surface. Each hand-actuated member is configured to be manually actuated and is positioned away from the control console and support surface. The hand control assembly controls varying stages of an ablation procedure, including an inflation stage, ablation stage, thawing stage and/or time to isolation. Each hand-actuated member sends at least one (i) initiation signal to the controller to initiate at least one of the inflation stage, ablation stage and/or a calculation of time to isolation, and/or (ii) termination signal to the controller to terminate at least one of the inflation stage, ablation stage and/or thawing stage.

摘要: An irrigated balloon catheter, includes a balloon carrying contact electrodes, wherein a user can vary the balloon's configuration by manipulating an elongated expander that extends along the catheter and through the balloon's interior, with its distal end coupled to a distal end of the balloon. The expander may pass through an irrigation lumen to save on space within the catheter, and the expander itself may be hollow in providing a lumen for cables or lead wires. The expander may include flexure slits for increased flexibility. The distal end of the balloon includes a housing for components, e.g., a position sensor. The distal end of the balloon and the manner by which the balloon membrane is attached to the housing present a generally flat atraumatic surface suitable for direct head-on contact with tissue. Longitudinal spines extend along the outer surface of the balloon to provide support.

摘要: A multi-pole synchronous pulmonary artery radiofrequency ablation catheter may comprise a control handle, a catheter body and an annular ring. One end of the catheter body may be flexible, and the flexible end of the catheter body may be connected to the annular ring. The other end of the catheter body may be connected to the control handle. A shape memory wire may be arranged in the annular ring. One end of the shape memory wire may extend to an end of the annular ring and the other end of the shape memory wire may pass through a root of the annular ring and be fixed on the flexible end of the catheter body. The annular ring may be provided with an electrode group. The device possesses advantages of simple operation, short operation time and controllable precise ablation. The device can be used to treat pulmonary hypertension with pulmonary denervation.

摘要: A method, system, and device for predicting lesion quality. Specifically, lesion quality may be predicted based on an assessment of pulmonary vein occlusion using injection of an impedance-modifying agent and evaluation of changes in impedance measurements recorded by an electrode located distal to an occlusion element of the treatment device used to inject the impedance-modifying agent. The quality of the occlusion may be rated based on the changes in impedance over time within the pulmonary vein. For example, the quality of the occlusion may be rated as being good, fair, or poor. This assessment may be quickly and easily communicated to an operator.

摘要: Apparatus and methods for ablation efficacy are described herein where a hood having a deployable elongated feature can extend beyond a distal face of the hood. The elongated feature can channel the energy to the deeper regions within the tissue (such as trabeculated regions or other tissue structures) such that the energy can be delivered to the target tissue despite small or large irregularities in the target tissue surface (or region) and/or changes in the relative distances between the hood and the target tissue.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to ablation catheter systems configured, for example, to ablate tissue adjacent an ostium of the pulmonary vein in a left atria of a heart. In one embodiment, an ablation catheter system includes a handle and a catheter coupled to the handle defining a lumen extending through a length of the catheter, the catheter including a distal end thereof. The ablation catheter system may also include an electrode coupled to the handle with lines extending through the lumen of the catheter, the electrode being configured to be constrained adjacent the distal end of the catheter and configured to be deployed from the distal end of the catheter to an expanded configuration.

摘要: Devices and systems for the selective positioning of an intravascular neuromodulation device are disclosed herein. Such systems can include, for example, an elongated shaft and a therapeutic assembly carried by a distal portion of the elongated shaft. The therapeutic assembly is configured for delivery within a blood vessel. The therapeutic assembly can include a pre-formed shape and can be transformable between a substantially straight delivery configuration; and a treatment configuration having the pre-formed helical shape to position the therapeutic assembly in stable contact with a wall of the body vessel. The therapeutic assembly can also include a mechanical decoupler operably connected to the therapeutic assembly that is configured to absorb at least a portion of a force exerted on the therapeutic assembly by the shaft so that the therapeutic assembly maintains a generally stationary position relative to the target site.
