摘要: Various catheters are provided herein for recording, mapping, and/or ablating target tissue to reduce or eliminate unwanted electrical impulses. In one embodiment, a catheter can have a handle, an elongate body, and an end effector. The end effector has expanded and contracted configurations and can rotate about the elongate body. A plurality of electrodes can also be disposed on the end effector for recording, mapping, and/or ablating target tissue surrounding the catheter. The handle can guide the end effector through transitioning between the configurations and rotating about the elongate body.

摘要: A system includes an expandable distal end of a catheter and a processor. The expandable distal end has multiple electrodes that are configured to be placed in contact with a tissue in an organ and to apply ablative power to tissue. The processor is configured to, during application of the ablative power, determine whether a physical contact between the electrodes and tissue meets a predefined contact quality, and, if the physical contact of an electrode among the electrodes with the tissue does not meet the predefined contact quality, re-use the electrode for electrophysiological (EP) sensing.

摘要: A cryotreatment catheter for treating tissue. The catheter may include an outer elongate body, a balloon treatment element coupled to the distal portion of the elongate body with a plurality of balloon lobes radially arranged around the outer elongate body, an inner elongate body rotatably movable within the lumen of the outer elongate body, and a fluid delivery lumen located within the lumen of the outer elongate body and at least partially within the lumen of the inner elongate body. The fluid delivery lumen may be branched at a distal portion into a plurality of linear segments, each linear segment being in fluid communication with one of the plurality of balloon lobes. Each of the balloon lobes may be inflated independently of each other by the linear segments of the fluid delivery lumen.

摘要: A system includes a catheter, a pulse generator and a controller. The catheter is configured for insertion into a body of a patient, and includes at least a first electrode, a second electrode and a third electrode, which are disposed at a distal end of the catheter and are configured to contact tissue within the body. The pulse generator is configured to apply one or more bipolar ablation pulses between the first and second electrodes, for ablating the tissue in contact with the first and second electrodes. The controller is configured to: (i) control the pulse generator to apply the one or more bipolar ablation pulses between the first and second electrodes, (ii) receive a signal indicative of a voltage, measured between the third electrode and a reference during application of the ablation pulses, and (iii) issue a notification in response to detecting that the voltage violates a predefined criterion.

摘要: The instant disclosure relates to electrophysiology catheters for tissue ablation. In particular, the instant disclosure relates to a cryogenic ablation balloon with safety features that facilitate identification of a leak into an interstitial space between inner and outer balloons as part of the ablation balloon catheter assembly, and prevents egress of cryogenic fluid out of the ablation balloon.

摘要: An annular mapping catheter includes a catheter body. The catheter body has a distal end and a proximal end. The distal end of the catheter body is provided with a distal end assembly, and the proximal end of the catheter body is provided with a handle. The distal end assembly is made of a head end catheter that has a shape memory function. The distal end assembly in a free state presents a predetermined bent shape including an annular part and a vertical part. The vertical part connects the annular part to the catheter body. The distal end assembly is provided with an electrode. The annular mapping catheter can detect an electrocardiogram activity near a pulmonary vein ostium and can better locate a cryoballoon in the heart.

摘要: An irreversible electroporation (IRE) includes setting an initial IRE protocol for applying IRE pulses by electrodes of a catheter placed in contact with tissue in an organ. A notification is issued to a user upon determining that the initial IRE protocol is expected to cause bubbles in blood. In response to the notification, user input is received from the user, that selects between the initial IRE protocol and an alternative protocol that is not expected to cause the bubbles. The IRE pulses are applied according to the initial IRE protocol or the alternative IRE protocol, depending on the user input.

摘要: Methods and systems for position determination of an intrabody probe, targets of an intrabody probe, and or actions to be performed using an intrabody probe are described. In some embodiments, an anatomy being navigated and/or mapped is described by a rule-based schema relating different anatomically identified structures to one another according to their ability to help identify and/or locate one another. Additionally, in some embodiments, data recorded from the intrabody probe is processed according to schema rules in order to provide anatomical identification of the anatomical region which the intrabody probe is sampling, optionally without performing detailed mapping, and/or prior to the availability of detailed mapping of anatomical geometry.
