Abstract: A method of operating a terminal device supporting a plurality of positioning techniques which use positioning measurements made by the terminal device and positioning assistance information received from a location server to determine the location of the terminal device. The method includes: establishing a target location; selecting a first positioning technique for navigating towards the target location; receiving first positioning assistance information from the location server for the first positioning technique; determining a first location of the terminal device in accordance with the first positioning technique and the first positioning assistance information; establishing a first trigger for using a second positioning technique which is associated with higher positioning accuracy than the first positioning technique; and, in response to determining the first trigger is satisfied, determining a second location of the terminal device in accordance with the second positioning technique and second positioning assistance information received from the location server.

Abstract: A receiver circuitry configured to receive, from infrastructure equipment of the wireless telecommunications network, a signal comprising positioning information for allowing a spatial position of the terminal device to be determined using the positioning information and a predetermined positioning scheme associated with the positioning information, the positioning scheme comprising one or more of instructions and additional information for determining the position of the terminal device using the positioning information, wherein the positioning information is comprised within a system information block (SIB) of the received signal; and processing circuitry configured: to determine, based on a characteristic of the SIB, a temporal validity of the received positioning information, and to determine, at a time at which the received positioning information is temporally valid, the spatial position of the terminal device using the received positioning information and the predetermined positioning scheme.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a new radio base station for a mobile telecommunications system. The new radio base station has a circuitry configured to communicate with at least one user equipment and at least one LTE base station and to establish a new radio cell. Abstract: The present application relates to a method for operating a terminal device (17) in a cellular mobile communication network (10). The cellular mobile communication network (10) comprises a first base station (11) using a first radio resource, and a second base station (12, 13) using a second radio resource. The terminal device (17) comprises a first transceiver unit (25) for communicating via the first radio resource and a second transceiver unit (26) for communicating via the second radio resource. According to the method, a radio resource control information for the second radio resource is determined and received at the terminal device (17) via the first transceiver unit (25). As defined by the radio resource control information, user data communication (19) between the second base station (12) enter the terminal device (17) is established via the second transceiver unit (26). The first transceiver unit (25) is set in an idle mode.

Abstract: A method of operating a terminal device and a base station in a wireless telecommunications system to communicate with one another using a primary component carrier operating on radio resources within a first frequency band and a secondary component carrier operating on radio resources within a second frequency band. The terminal device makes measurements of radio usage in the second frequency band, and transmits an indication of the measurements to the base station. The base station then establishes a configuration setting for the secondary component carrier. The configuration setting is associated with a validity period during which the base station communicates data to the terminal device using the primary component carrier and the secondary component carrier operating in accordance with its configuration setting.
