Abstract:
Schemes for supporting device-to-device, D2D, communications between terminal devices in a wireless telecommunication system. A network entity, e.g. a base station, establishes a set pool of radio resources to be reserved for use for D2D communications and communicates an indication of these resources to terminal devices. On an ongoing basis the network entity monitors the extent to which the set of radio resources reserved for D2D communications is being used, for example based on feedback received from terminal devices or its own measurements. If it is determined the set of radio resources reserved for D2D communications is being under-utilized or over-utilized, the network entity may establish an updated set of radio resources to be used for D2D communications, and communicate this to the terminal devices. Thus a mechanism is provided for dynamically adjusting the size of a set of resources available for D2D communications in response to changing resource utilization.
Abstract:
A communications system is provided, comprising one or more infrastructure equipment forming part of a wireless communications network, and a communications device. The communications device is configured to transmit or receive signals via a wireless access interface provided by the wireless communications network to or from a peer terminal in the wireless communications network with one or more pre-authorised quality of service, PAQ, flows, at least one of the PAQ flows currently being inactive. One or more of the infrastructure equipment are configured to receive an indication that the communications device is preparing to transmit or receive data with the PAQ flows to or from the one or more of the infrastructure equipment.
Abstract:
The UE(130) is configured to receive a control parameter (5013) from a network in a first connection with the network. The UE(130) is further configured to selectively bar access of the UE(130) to the network for a subsequent second connection based on the control parameter (5013).
Abstract:
A method of operating a terminal device and a base station in a wireless telecommunications system to communicate with one another using a primary component carrier operating on radio resources within a first frequency band and a secondary component carrier operating on radio resources within a second frequency band. The terminal device makes measurements of radio usage in the second frequency band, e.g. by other devices which are not part of the wireless telecommunications system but which can also use radio resources within the second frequency band. The terminal device transmits an indication of the measurements to the base station, and on the basis if this the base station establishes a configuration setting for the secondary component carrier, for example in terms of frequency resources to use for the secondary component carrier. The configuration setting is associated with a validity period during which the base station communicates data to the terminal device using the primary component carrier and the secondary component carrier operating in accordance with its configuration setting. When the validity period expires, the terminal device again measures and reports on radio usage so the base station can determine an updated configuration setting for the secondary component carrier that takes account of any changes in radio usage during the validity period.
Abstract:
A communications device and method for performing device-to-device communications. The method includes receiving, from a mobile communications network, an indication of whether a communications device can use at least one of first communications resources of a wireless access interface for performing device-to-device communications in accordance with a first mode of operation or second communications resources of the wireless access interface for performing device to device communications in accordance with the second mode of operation, and depending on the indication provided by the mobile communications network and the configuration of the first communications resources and/or the second communications resources, transmitting signals to the one or more other communications devices via the first communications resources or transmitting signals to the one or more other communications devices via the second communications resources in accordance with the second mode of operation using the device to device communications protocol.
Abstract:
A method in a location service client node includes maintaining a database containing a listing of beacon radio node identifiers with their geographic locations. A received location request contains an identifier for a UE and an identifier for a beacon radio node. A geographic location of the UE is determined from the database using the geographic location of the identifier for the beacon radio nodes. A message is sent to a public safety system containing the identifier for the UE and the geographic location. Subsequent to sending the message to the public safety system, a received movement notification message contains the identifier for the beacon radio node and data indicating that the beacon radio node has been moved. Data in the database is set to prevent the geographic location of the beacon radio node from being subsequently used to determine the geographic location of a UE.
Abstract:
A method performed in a wireless device, for enhancing paging operations with a network node is disclosed. The method comprises determining a group identifier based on a paging occurrence parameter, wherein the group identifier is indicative of a subset of wireless devices belonging to a paging group paged at a same paging occasion.
Abstract:
A solution for routing data in a radio access network RAN including a first base station (10), a second base station (20), and a logical inter-node interface (X), wherein the first base station (10) has a pending active session to a core network (110), which session is associated with a terminal (1), while the terminal is suspended from RAN connection. A method comprises detecting a resume attempt from the terminal (1) in the second base station (20); detecting an indicator, received in the second base station (20) from the terminal (1), associated with a characteristic of data to send from the terminal (1); receiving data in the second base station (20) from the terminal (1); forwarding, dependent on said indication, the received data to the first base station (10) over the logical inter-node interface (X) for transmission in the pending active session.
