Abstract: Provided is a display device. The display device includes a display panel that includes a first display region and a second display region, a data driving circuit configured to drive a plurality of data lines, a scan driving circuit configured to drive a plurality of scan lines, and a driving controller configured to control the data driving circuit and the scan driving circuit so as to operate the first display region and the second display region at different frequencies when an operation mode is a multi-frequency mode, wherein the driving controller changes the operation mode to a normal mode when a difference between an image signal of a current frame of the first display region and an image signal of a previous frame of the first display region is equal to or greater than a reference value during the multi-frequency mode.

Abstract: A method of driving a display panel includes dividing an input image into a plurality of segments, generating a flicker value of a segment of the plurality of segments, determining whether to compensate the flicker value of the segment or not according to a segment size, compensating the flicker value of the segment based on the segment size, determining a frame rate of the display panel based on the flicker value of the segment and outputting a data voltage to the display panel in the frame rate. The flicker value of the segment is compensated based on the flicker value of the segment and flicker values of segments that are adjacent to the segment.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display panel, a gate driver, a data driver and a driving controller. The display panel displays an image based on input image data. Abstract: A display device includes a display panel and a panel driver configured to drive the display panel. The panel driver receives input image data corresponding to first, second, and third colors at an input frame frequency, and detects whether the input image data represent a still or dynamic image. If the input image data represent the dynamic image, the panel driver drives the display panel at a first output frame frequency substantially the same as the input frame frequency. If the input image data represent the still image, the panel driver calculates a plurality of flicker indexes of the still image for at least two of the first, second, third colors, one or more combinations of the first, second, and third colors, and drives the display panel at a second output frame frequency that is determined based on the plurality of flicker indexes.

Abstract: A pixel of a display device includes a capacitor; a light emitting diode; and first, second, third, and fourth transistors. The display device has a normal frequency mode and a low frequency mode. Two electrodes of the capacitor are respectively connected to a first voltage source and a gate node. A gate electrode of the first transistor is connected to the gate node. In a hold period in the low frequency mode, both the second and third transistors receive a scan signal, the third transistor diode-connects the first transistor, the fourth transistor receives an initialization signal and transfers an initialization voltage to the gate node, the scan signal is at a first off voltage level, and the initialization signal is at a second off voltage level unequal to the first off voltage level. The cathode of the light emitting diode is connected to a second voltage source.

Abstract: A display device includes: a display panel including a plurality of pixels connected to a plurality of scan lines; a scan driving circuit, which drives the plurality of scan lines in synchronization with a clock signal; and a driving controller, which outputs the clock signal. While an operating mode is a multi-frequency mode, the driving controller comparts the display panel into a first display area and a second display area. A hold frame of the multi-frequency mode includes a first section during which the first display area is driven, and a second section during which the second display area is driven. The driving controller outputs the clock signal of a normal power mode during the first section and outputs the clock signal of a low-power mode during the second section.
