摘要: A key actuated secure docking apparatus for a portable computer locks the apparatus so that internal electronic devices are prevented from being detached from a base body of a docking apparatus, even if the desktop base is left without a docked portable computer. Further, the key mechanism allows the docking apparatus to be placed in a condition in which power supply for the docking apparatus cannot be turned on even if the power switch for the power supply is turned on. Data in a storage device internal to the docking apparatus cannot be stolen or destroyed by attempting docking with a portable computer since power is not supplied to the storage device.

摘要: A suspension control system capable of controlling a suspension of an automotive vehicle in such a manner as to improve the riding comfort and maneuverability of the vehicle without the need for many sensors is disclosed, in which a speed difference signal obtained by subtracting an estimated vehicle speed from a wheel speed is filtered with band-pass filters which pass sprung resonance frequency components and unsprung resonance frequency components, respectively. After amplification, the filtered speed difference are compared with a reference value so that a damping force of a shock absorber is set in accordance with a road surface condition. Since the damping force of the shock absorber is shifter by using only information based on the wheel speed detected by a wheel speed sensor, a total number of sensor to be mounted on the vehicle for controlling the suspension can be considerably reduced. The suspension control system is simple in construction and can be manufactured at a relatively low cost.

摘要: A new compact-size, light-weight and low-cost zoom lens system having a high optical quality with a very simple structure including, from the object side to the image side, a front lens group having a positive refractive power and a rear lens group having a negative refractive power. The zoom lens system is operated by changing the axial air distance between the front and rear lens groups during a zooming operation. The zoom lens system uses aspherical surfaces whose low-cost manufacturing has been enabled by the recent progresses in plastic molding technology and glass molding technology. Many embodiments of the lens compositions according to the present invention, and further more specific examples of the embodiments are described with figures and data that show compactness and high optical performance.

摘要: An anti-skid control system for use in a motor vehicle having wheels whose rotational speeds are sensed by wheel sensors. The anti-skid control system decides the condition of the road-surface, on which the motor vehicle is running, on the basis of signals from wheel sensors. A reference speed is further calculated on the basis of the sensed speeds of the wheels symmetrically provided at the rear-right and rear-left sides with respect to the advancing direction of the motor vehicle. That is a selected one of an average value of the speeds of the rear-right and rear-left wheels sensed by the wheel sensors and the maximum one of the sensed rear-right and rear-left wheel speeds is selected in accordance with the decided road-surface condition. The reference speed is calculated on the basis of the selected one. A control unit of the anti-skid control system performs slip control of the wheels in accordance with the calculated reference speed. With this arrangement, the anti-skid control system can improve the braking efficiency and controllability irrespective of turning of the motor vehicle.

摘要: A camera comprising a main lens component disposed in a photographic optical path, and a first and a second auxiliary lens components movable into and out of the photographic optical path. The main lens component provides a standard focal length. The first auxiliary lens component is pivotable about an axis extending parallel to an optical axis of the main lens component. When in the optical path, the first auxiliary lens component, in combination with the main lens component, provides a long focal length. The second auxiliary lens component is pivotable about an axis extending parallel to a straight line perpendicular to the optical axis of the main lens component. When in the optical path, the second auxiliary lens component, in combination with the main lens component, provides a short focal length.
