The print data corresponding to each of the remaining high-density (thick) inks is expressed by multi-valued data having a larger number of bits than the yellow data, and is printed by a plurality of print scans.

    摘要: In the process of correcting a color deviation caused by output characteristic variations among different colorants in a printing apparatus, a method of printing a test pattern allows an appropriate and highly accurate visual detection of the color deviation. More specifically, the test pattern has a plurality of patches printed therein, each of which has placed adjacent to each other a test area to be checked for the color deviation and a reference area serving as a criterion for color deviation and which has the test area and the reference area repeated alternately. If the colors of the two areas look different during the comparison of only one pair of the test area and the reference area, the pattern of the two alternately repeated areas makes the colors of the two areas appear more uniform, alleviates a high color difference sensitivity and thereby enables easy identification of a patch that matches the accuracy of the correction performed according to the color deviation detection.

    摘要: An ink jet recording apparatus, in which thermal energy is applied to ink in accordance with a driving signal applied to a heater to produce a bubble, by which ink is ejected onto a recording material, includes a driver for applying a plurality of driving signals to the heater for one ejection of one ink droplet. The driving signals comprise a first driving signal not ejecting the ink and a second driving signal for ejecting the ink, the second driving signal being applied after a rest period after the first driving signal. The apparatus further includes a controller for changing an amount of ink ejected by changing a length of the rest period and changing the first driving signal. The controller effects its changing operation in a first changing region in which the rest period is changed without changing the first driving signal and in a second changing region in which a length of the first drive signal is changed.

    摘要: Disclosed are an inkjet printing method and an inkjet printer capable of printing high-quality images by the inkjet printing method even when ink is exchanged for ink having a different density, particularly ink having a lower density. A printer using this method identifies the type of an ink tank attached to a printhead. When the printer detects in accordance with the type of an ink tank that an ink tank is changed to another ink tank containing ink with a different density, recovery conditions for the printhead are changed in accordance with the type of the ink. Especially when an ink tank is exchanged for another ink tank containing ink with a lower density, the printer increases the number of times of suction for the printhead after the ink tank exchange and the number of times of preliminary discharge after wiping. The printer also shortens preliminary discharge intervals and increases the number of preliminary discharge times at the time of printing.
