Abstract: A device is configured to create an account including a plurality of members and a shared data plan. The device stores a content associated with the account and the shared data plan is set up to be charged for data used on an operating network to provide the content to the plurality of members associated with a plurality of operator networks. Further, the device provides the content to a user device associated with a member of the plurality of members. The content is provided through the operator network. The device charges the shared data plan for the amount of data used by the operator network to provide the content to the user device without causing a data plan between the member and the operator network to be charged for the amount of data.

Abstract: A method, a network device, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are described in relation to an MIMO selection service. The MIMO selection service may include calculating MIMO configurations that include a number of layers for each MIMO configuration pertaining to a group of end devices; and identifying performance metric sensitive end devices of the group. The MIMO selection service may further include selecting for each performance metric sensitive end device, a first MIMO configuration from the MIMO configurations that has a higher number of layers relative to one or more other MIMO configurations of the MIMO configurations; and selecting for each non-performance metric sensitive end device of the group, a second MIMO configuration from the MIMO configurations that combined with the first MIMO configuration yield a highest spectral efficiency.

Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a network slice selection service is provided. The service may include using route selection policies that includes radio frequency criteria for selection of a network slice. The service may include establishing an application session based on the route selection policies. The service may further include determining that a radio frequency of the network slice cannot be sustained. The service may include executing an application session release procedure and an application session establishment procedure. The procedures may include using cause data and context data pertaining to the initial application session to re-establish the application session via a different network slice and a different radio frequency based on the route selection policies.

Abstract: A network device may select a first user plane function for establishing, with a user equipment, a protocol data unit session with a single flow and may receive an application function trigger associated with a first new flow for a first application of the user equipment. Abstract: A controller may create pseudo-slices to provide differentiated levels of service and/or execution of services at different edge locations within an Evolved Packet Core (“EPC”) network based on existing identifiers that are used to configure control plane and/or user plane function of the network. Each pseudo-slice may allow User Equipment (“UE”) to directly exchange user plane traffic with remote nodes in the core network for latency insensitive services, or with local nodes at the closer edge locations for low latency services. The different classes of service provided by the controller may be based on an Access Point Name (“APN”), Quality-of-Service Class Identifier (“QCI”), Service Provider Identifier (“SPID”), Allocation and Retention Priority (“ARP”), and/or other request or profile identifiers. The controller may also create pseudo-slices to leverage Fifth Generation (“5G”) connectivity when exchanging the user plane traffic in an EPC network that supports 5G Non-Standalone Access (“NSA”).

Abstract: A device may receive a request to establish a communication session with a network. The request includes first bearer information regarding a bearer and first network slice information regarding a network slice of the network. The device may generate a first priority value, associated with the request, based on the first bearer information and the first network slice information. The device may obtain second bearer information regarding active bearers associated with existing communication sessions and second network slice information regarding one or more network slices, of the network, associated with the active bearers. The device may generate second priority values associated with the active bearers based on the second bearer information and the second network slice information. The device may compare the first priority value and the second priority values. The device may preempt one or more of the active bearers based on the comparison.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide for network-based selection of a UE device's 5G operation mode. A network device in a wireless core network receives a policy query for a user equipment (UE) device. The UE device is capable of 5G non-standalone (NSA) and 5G standalone (SA) operation modes. The network device identifies one or more of subscription data for the UE device, stored network data associated with the UE device, or dynamic network data relevant to the UE device. The network device assigns, based on the identifying, a radio access technology/frequency selection and prioritization (RFSP) value for the UE device. The network device sends the RFSP value to an access management function in the wireless core network for controlling selection of the 5G NSA operation mode or 5G SA operation mode.

Abstract: A method, a system, and a non-transitory storage medium provide for encoding a general packet radio service (GPRS)-tunnel endpoint identifier (GTP-TEID) with data identifying radio frequency (RF) bandwidths supported in a local radio environment (LRE) from which a user equipment (UE) device accesses the wireless access station; sending, via a signaling channel, the GTP-TEID to a core network device; notifying one or more core network devices of an RF bandwidth category level corresponding to the RF bandwidths; and applying at least one of a policy rule or a charging rule to a packet data unit (PDU) session for the UE device, based on the RF bandwidth category level.
