    摘要: A movable molding is provided for a vehicle on the body adjacent to the wrap-around end portion of the bumper. The molding and end portion of the bumper have mating abutment surfaces. When the bumper moves towards the vehicle upon impact, the mating abutment surfaces interact causing the molding to be moved against the action of a spring along a slide element thus avoiding damage to the parts. Upon retraction of the bumper to its normal position, the spring biases the molding back to its normal position lying against the body of the vehicle.

    摘要: In a vehicle, an air conditioning control with electrical circuit means for carrying substantial current between selective switches located at one part of the assembly where accessible to a vehicle occupant and terminals located at an opposite part adapted to connect to a wiring harness to feed remotely located air conditioning components. The control assembly includes a base member which supports selective controls or switches with a face panel identifying the switches and a circuit carrying sub-assembly including a molded plastic circuit frame which operatively engages the base member in mating face to face contact. The sub-assembly frame supports metal circuit elements in the form of side-by-side terminal strips with a plurality of removable integral connector strips therebetween. The frame further has channel means molded into its surface which mates with the base member. The channels conform to the configuration of the metal circuit elements so that the surfaces of the frame and the circuit elements are substantially co-planar. The co-planar circuit elements and frame mate with or engage a surface of the base member to thereby capture the circuit elements therebetween in good heat transfer contact with both. Further, the framing member includes access means to permit removal of the connector strips between the circuit elements subsequent to mating the base and the frame.

    摘要: A microprocessor-based electronic voltage regulation system for controlling the charging of the battery in a vehicle. The conventional voltage regulator is eliminated and the intelligence of the microprocessor already present on the vehicle for controlling engine operation is used to regulate the output of the alternator. The battery temperature signal from a temperature transducer and a battery voltage signal from a sense line connected directly to the positive terminal of the battery are supplied to the microprocessor through an analog-to-digital converter. The microprocessor is programmed to ascertain from the battery temperature signal the desired set point voltage based upon an inverse first order relationship between battery temperature and desired battery voltage with preset maximum and minimum voltage set point levels. Energization of the field windings is controlled in accordance with a comparison between the desired set point voltage and the battery voltage signal on the battery sense line and is implemented in response to a control signal from the microprocessor by a solid-state power switching circuit which interfaces with the alternator field windings. In addition, the microprocessor is provided with additional feedback information relating to various driving conditions, such as vehicle deceleration, throttle position, engine RPM, and elapsed time since ignition, and is further programmed to modify the desired voltage set point or modify engine RPM in accordance with such driving conditions. Overcurrent protection for the logic circuitry and improved diagnostic capabilities are also provided.

Visual readouts are continuously generated during time of use of the input supply voltage and accumulated intervals of time of use are stored in a non-volatile memory when power is removed from the device. Upon a later resumption of power usage, the stored non-volatile data is retrieved, displayed and summed with the new generated elapsed time information. This meter is applicable to both AC and DC operations.
