    摘要: An apparatus comprises an internal combustion engine including an intake stream, at least one piston cylinder. An air assisted injector is configured to insert a plurality of liquid droplets into the intake stream or cylinder. The injector comprises a gas injection portion configured to deliver a gas to a mixing chamber at a first pressure and a first pulse width. A liquid injection portion is configured to deliver a liquid to the mixing chamber at a first temperature and a second pulse width, and after a predetermined delay relative to the gas so as to generate the plurality of liquid droplets having a mean diameter of up to 5 microns. A nozzle is configured to deliver the plurality of liquid droplets into the intake chamber or cylinder. The gas and the inserted liquid droplets are compressed during a compression stroke in the cylinder and fully vaporize throughout the compression stroke.

    摘要: A fuel atomizer that includes a housing having a fuel inlet and at least one primary orifice positioned at the inlet, wherein the at least one orifice configured to disperse a stream of fuel into a plurality of fuel droplets. The plurality of fuel droplets contact a fuel impingement surface to break up the plurality of fuel droplets into a plurality of smaller secondary droplets and create a thin film of secondary droplets on the impingement surface. At least one pressurized air channel delivers an airflow into contact with the secondary droplets. The secondary droplets pass through a plurality of secondary outlet orifices to exit the housing. A size of the plurality of secondary droplets is reduced when passing out of the plurality of secondary orifices.

    摘要: In an in-cylinder injection type multicylinder internal combustion engine for uneven interval firing, including a plurality of air-fuel mixture injection valves for directly injecting an air-fuel mixture into a combustion chamber of each cylinder, the air-fuel mixture injection valves being mounted on a multicylinder engine body and each having a fuel injection valve and an air injection valve, and an air pump actuatable by power transmitted from a crankshaft for discharging compressed air. The air pump is connected in common to the air-fuel mixture injection valves with the injection pressure of the air-fuel mixture injection valves in each cylinder being prevented from changing for good combustibility. The discharge timing of the air pump is set out of synchronism with the injection timings of the fuel injection valves and the air injection valves of all the cylinders.
