摘要: The present disclosure provides a system, apparatus, and method for a modular food tray system having a plurality of food trays that can be used for heating, cooling, or a combination thereof. The system can include a first food tray for heating and a second food tray for cooling, generally mounted at a different elevation from the first food tray. Alternatively, one or both of the food trays can be designed for cooling through temperature elements coupled thereto and the tray can be heated by overhead radiant heating elements for dual temperature capabilities. The first food tray can be mounted above the second food tray. The first food tray can include a thermal shield between a heating element in the first food tray and the second food tray. In other embodiments, the second food tray can be mounted above the first food tray with a thermal shield therebetween.

摘要: A plurality of detector units are positioned to sense the refrigerated air temperature of a refrigerated air supply to a retail frozen food case or counter. The detector units are battery powered and supply a modulated radio frequency output reflecting the existence of a temperature condition integrated over time together with identification codes identifying a particular detector unit. A receiver unit receives the transmitted radio frequency signal, demodulates and decodes the signal, and supplies an output to an alarm unit. The alarm unit develops the alarm signal and supplies it to an indicator, as well as to an external alarm circuit which is a phone dialer which automatically dials a phone number in an external telephone system. In addition, the detector unit periodically generates an operational check signal which is also transmitted to and decoded by the receiver unit and supplied to the alarm unit. The alarm unit indicates the existence of the operational check signal. In the absence thereof, it causes generation of an alarm signal to be generated.

The system includes a plurality of sensors for obtaining readings associated with food items, such as temperature readings, freshness indications, and the like. The system is scalable and configurable with each sensor being capable of functioning as an individual sensor and/or as part of a grouping of sensors. The system is configured to obtain a variety of information, such as ambient air temperature, dwell time of food items, moisture levels, and the like, thereby enabling the system to recognize current and future concerns. The system provides audio and visual warnings and visual displays. In some embodiments, the system performs one or more physical operation based on one or more detected condition. The system is further configured to distinguish between accurate readings and inaccurate readings and/or to otherwise determine if an obstacle is preventing a sensor from obtaining an accurate reading.

The operational cooling parameter indicates an amount of cooling or a corresponding cooling operation for each refrigerated display case. The processing circuitry is configured to operate each of the multiple refrigerated display cases using the operational cooling parameter.
