摘要: The present invention includes syringes with valves. The valves control communication between the interior of a barrel of the syringe and the exterior of the barrel. In syringes that include two valves, the valves may be oriented opposite one another, such that one of the valves may enable fluid to flow into the interior of the barrel of the syringe while preventing fluid from flowing in the opposite direction, while the other valve may enable fluid to flow out of the interior of the barrel while preventing fluid from flowing in the opposite direction. Alternatively, a syringe may include a single valve, which is carried at or near a distal end of its plunger. Methods for using such syringes, including, but not limited to, manual pulsed aspiration methods and manual pulsed delivery methods are also disclosed.

摘要: The present invention relates to a device for delivering medicament, comprising a generally elongated tubular housing having opposite distal and proximal ends, said tubular housing comprising a distal housing part and a proximal housing part releasebly connected to each other by first engagement means; a container inside said proximal housing part and arranged to contain medicament; a threaded plunger rod; a drive nut threadedly connected to the threaded plunger rod; a drive member having a tensioning wheel accessible outside the distal end of the distal housing part, said drive member being connected to the drive nut via a plunger housing arranged between said drive member and said drive nut; spring force means having a first end connected to the drive member and a second end connected to a fixed point on the distal housing part such that said spring force means is tensioned when said tensioning wheel and said drive member are rotated; a manually operated activation means releasable interconnected to said plunger housing by fourth engagement means for providing a rotational locking of the plunger housing in any direction when said drive member is rotated and said spring force means is tensioned, and for releasing said rotational locking when said fourth engagement are moved away from each other, such that said drive member, said plunger housing and said drive nut are rotated in the opposite direction forcing the plunger rod to move axially exerting pressure on the medicament inside the container for expelling a certain predetermined quantity of the medicament through a delivery member; wherein the device further comprises a guide nut arranged with guide ledges which cooperate with longitudinal grooves of the plunger for providing a rotational lock but allowing a longitudinal movement of the plunger rod in relation to the guide nut, and wherein said guide nut is rotationally locked to the distal housing part by fifth engagement means when the two housing parts are connected to each other; and pressure release means comprising slanting wedge-like surfaces arranged on said drive means and slanting wedge-like surfaces arranged on a fixed inner annular surface of the distal housing part, which slanting wedge-like surfaces are abutting each other such that they move out of contact near the end of the delivery of the predetermined quantity when the drive nut is rotated.

摘要: The present invention embodies a method and an injector adapted to incorporate this method, for keeping a patient's vein open during an intravenous contrast injector procedure without injecting a saline solution from a separate syringe. The injector includes a controller having a programable software module to allow an operator to configure the injector to push some contrast media fluid through an injection site and then retract a plunger drive ram. A syringe is adapted to allow a patient's blood pressure to move the syringe plunger back towards its starting position, thus enabling a patient's blood to pass through the injection site. Alternatively, the syringe is adapted with an elastic plunger which as it enlarges and contracts facilitates fluid communication through the injection site. Additionally, the plunger drive ram can be adapted to gradually pull as well as push the plunger, thereby causing fluid to flow across the injection site.

摘要: A combined irrigator-vacuum device includes a pump assembly mountable over a syringe or device body. The device body has a dividing wall which divides the body into a clean chamber and a waste chamber. Openings are formed at the bottom of the body to provide an inlet into said waste chamber and an outlet from said clean chamber. The pump assembly comprises a housing and a compressible cover defining a pump chamber. A vacuum valve and an irrigation valve are positioned within the pump chamber above the syringe waste chamber and clean chamber, respectively. The pump is operable such that compression of the cover causes irrigant fluid to be ejected from the clean chamber and release of the cover causes used irrigant to be vacuumed into the waste chamber. The device can be selectively switchable between an irrigation-vacuum mode, an irrigation-only mode and a vacuum-only mode.

摘要: The invention comprises a disposable hypodermic syringe with means for passive aspiration. The syringe comprises a barrel (10) of clear synthetic plastics material and a plunger (12) comprising an elastic bung (28) slideable in the barrel (10). Pressure on the plunger elastically deforms the bung (28). If this pressure is released the bung (28) resiles to effect aspiration. This aspiration is passive, requiring no active withdrawal of the plunger by the user. After use the syringe may be disposed of as a whole, with no disassembly, using one hand only. The syringe may be made by adapting cartridges conventionally used for dental local anaesthetic.

摘要: A self-aspirating hypodermic ampule which incorporates a piston capable of limited resilient movement when a force is manually applied to effect a hypodermic injection so that, when the force is subsequently released, the piston retracts sufficiently to cause a back flow or aspirating flow through the needle into the ampule for blood detection; the piston including radial flanges the axial sides of which converge to permit resiliant distortion and axial displacement of the central portion of the piston before sliding movement of the piston relative to the surrounding walls of the ampule; the piston also being arranged for insertion in the ampule, either end forward and its ends being shaped to minimize gas entrapment thereby maximizing the effect of its aspirating movement.

摘要: A hypodermic syringe for medical, dental, or veterinary use employing cartridge ampuls of injectable fluid arranged to be automatically self-aspirating. A resilient membrane is deflected at the forward end of the ampul rearwardly of the ampul each time the syringe plunger is actuated, so that upon release of the plunger the membrane is automatically resiliently restored to its normal position thereby producing conditions of reduced pressure or aspiration within the ampul. The membrane is deflected on a stud positioned at the forward end of the ampul-receiving cavity in the syringe, or on a movable flanged tubular element on the ampul adjacent the membrane and projecting forwardly of the ampul.
