摘要: Container assemblies for accommodating pharmaceutical compositions are provided. The container assembly includes a container and a plunger. The container has a hollow cylindrical body with an open end and a closed end, which is closed by a bottom portion. The hollow cylindrical body has a length (L), an outer diameter (DO), and an inner diameter with a length to outer diameter ratio between 3:1 and 15:1. The hollow cylindrical body and the bottom portion are formed integrally and of the same material, which is a glass or polymer material. The container has an inner surface with an average Zn-leachability of 0.00085 μg/cm2 or less. The plunger is inside the hollow cylindrical body at the open end, is pierceable by a cannula, and is slidable relative to the hollow cylindrical body from the open end towards the closed end.

摘要: Methods and systems for an injection system are provided. An example injection system includes a container for a pharmaceutical that is sealed at a proximal end with a plunger having a pushing surface for engaging an inner surface of the hollow body. A plunger rod extends axially from the proximal end of the container and is covered with a plunger rod cover. Removal of the cover activates the system and allows for delivery of the pharmaceutical product from the container by advancing the plunger within the container towards the seal.

摘要: A method and apparatus are disclosed for delivery of a drug to a recipient. In some embodiments, the delivery apparatus may unseal a drug containing reservoir. In some embodiments, the delivery rate may be controlled and/or adjustable. Optionally the apparatus may be disposable. Optionally, the apparatus may have a low profile and/or be wearable and/or attachable to the recipient. Optionally, discharge of the drug and/or unsealing of the reservoir may be driven by a plunger moving parallel to the base of the apparatus. Optionally, the apparatus may release a hypodermic needle into the recipient. Optionally, release of the hypodermic needle may be in a direction non-parallel and/or orthogonal to the direction of movement of the plunger. Optionally, prior to release, the hypodermic needle may be preserved in an aseptic state by a needle opening septum sealing a needle opening. Optionally, upon release, the hypodermic needle may pierce the needle opening septum.

摘要: A method for creating a sterile connection with a fluid in a container. The container has a sealing member sealing a first end of the container, and a barrier sealing a chamber in fluid communication with the sealing member. The method includes providing a valve sleeve assembly that includes a flexible sleeve having a barrier portion at an end of the flexible sleeve, a hollow first penetrator disposed within the flexible sleeve, and a hollow second penetrator at least partially disposed within the first penetrator. An interior of the flexible sleeve is sterile. The method also includes piercing the barrier portion and the barrier with the first penetrator, and displacing the second penetrator relative to the first penetrator and the sealing member to pierce the sealing member and establish the sterile connection with an interior of the container.

摘要: The present invention relates to injection devices for injecting a medicament from a cartridge (600) through a needle cannula (510). The injection device (100) includes an actuator (330, 360) for driving a piston driver (310) and includes an end of stroke limiter (341, 611). When the piston driver (310) is arrested by the end of stroke limiter (341, 611) a shielding driver (370) is automatically triggered to actively shift the needle cannula (510) into a shielded state. The injection device may include a fluid dispensing interruption mechanism that automatically interrupts fluid flow when the piston driver has moved a predetermined stroke length. The injection device may also include a single pre-stressed spring acting exclusively in a linear compression mode or exclusively in a torsion mode and adapted to sequentially drive the device to enable fully automatic operation. The invention also relates to a method of sterilizing a needle cannula assembly.

摘要: The present invention relates to a drug delivery device for dispensing of a dose of a medicinal product, comprising, a housing, a drive mechanism comprising an axially displaceable piston rod to act on a piston of a cartridge containing the medicinal product to be dispensed, wherein the housing is adapted to support a piercing element which is adapted to penetrate a distal end face of the cartridge exclusively on demand. Furthermore, the drug delivery device comprises means for displacing the cartridge from a proximal stop position to a distal stop position in an axial direction and with respect to the housing, wherein in the distal stop position, the cartridge is connected to the piercing element and wherein in the proximal stop position, the cartridge is disconnected from the piercing element such that a fluid transfer between inside volume of the cartridge and the piercing element is interrupted.
