摘要: A defibrillator paddle includes a pediatric electrode of relatively small size attached to a mounting portion of a housing having a handle. An adult electrode assembly is releasably mounted to the mounting portion of the housing by a quick release latch mechanism. The adult electrode assembly includes an adult electrode larger than the pediatric electrode. The pediatric electrode nests within the adult electrode assembly and a spring makes electrical contact between the electrodes when the adult electrode assembly is mounted.

摘要: There is disclosed a self-protective system for administering an electrical shock to a would-be assailant by first establishing a low resistance path to the nervous system of the assailant and then coupling thereto an interference signal voltage having a frequency within the passband of the nerves. It incorporates a novel compact power oscillator which is normally quiescent until applied to a load, to produce, under load, a waveform which has a unique application to self-protective devices and medical uses. The oscillator includes a high gain inverting amplifier, preferably a Darlington pair constituted by a germanium output transistor driven by a small signal transistor, a transformer, a D.C. source such as a battery, and a pair of output electrodes.

摘要: Methods and means for assisting persons in breaking undesirable habits include means for projecting first and second images onto a screen. The first image is a fixation image to induce a person to concentrate in a small limited area. The second image relates to an object or message relating to the habits to be broken. Various additional sensory messages, such as electrical or audio signals, are communicated to the person while one or both of the images are being projected on the screen.
