The securing member can be, for example, a nut typically used to attach wheels to the wheeled vehicle. The wheel cover can have a circumferential wall portion to cover a rolling surface of the associated wheel and a sidewall portion to contact a side of the associate wheel. The circumferential wall portion can have multiple features, such as protrusions, to reduce or inhibit rotation of the associated wheel when the wheel cover is attached thereto.

摘要： An anti-theft device prevents illicit access to a wheel's hub area and more particularly to the wheel lug nuts. The anti-theft device includes a top faceplate overlying a lug nut bracket. In a preferred embodiment, the top faceplate is coextensive in outline with the underlying lug nut bracket. The top faceplate is detachably secured to the lug nut bracket by a locking device having a cylinder lock connected to a lock arm. The lock arm passes through an aperture in the lug nut bracket during assembly of the top faceplate with the lug nut bracket, but when rotated into a locking position the lock arm retains the lug nut member to the top faceplate. The cylinder lock is key operated, and with a correct key inserted it can be turned to permit removal of the top faceplate from the underlying lug nut bracket 140. Embodiments are shown for use with asymmetrically disposed lug nut members on axles having an odd number of nuts.

The annulus is connected to the vehicle hub with mounting attachments that connect to the specially designed extended lug nuts or studs of a vehicle. A locking mechanism such as a cam lock extends through the cross section of the annulus to communicate with the lug nuts or bolts and hold the lug cover securely in place.

摘要： A mechanical locking system secures a wheel cover to a vehicular wheel. A rim lock includes a rim clasp which extends around at least a portion of the outer rim of the wheel. The rim clasp forces the wheel cover into abutting engagement with the outboard surface of the wheel. A hub lock includes a protrusion in the wheel cover which matingly engages a channel or recess in the wheel. The hub lock is located adjacent the hub portion of the wheel. The hub lock may include a spring to apply a force against the protrusion forcing the protrusion into the wheel.

摘要： A lug nut lock is used to mechanically lock a cover assembly to a lug nut resulting in a lock to the wheel and/or hub. The lug nut lock includes a lug well extending out from its inboard surface to a distal end. An engagable surface extends out from the distal end. Retention legs extend outwardly from the walls of the lug well. The retention legs include threaded surfaces engagable with a threaded surface of a compression nut. The compression nut forces or compress the retention legs inwardly forcing the engagable surfaces to engage a bottom surface of a lug nut locking the cover assembly to the lug nut.

摘要： A rallye wheel hub cab retaining device is provided for securing the hub cap to the vehicle's wheel lug, whereby deterring theft of the hub cap. A fixed length of cable is secured to the hub cap on one end by means of four stud terminals, each secured to the existing bolts of the cap. The opposite end, fitted with a loop and "S" hook, is bolted to the wheel lug, and held fast by the wheel lug nut. The relatively simple device secures the hub cap to the wheel, yet still allows enough slack to gain access to the wheel nuts. The device is short enough to safely allow the cap to rotate with the wheel, without striking the vehicle's fender well, should the cap come loose from the rim.

摘要： A device for securing a Chevrolet rally cap to the wheel of an automotive vehicle to deter the theft of the cap. The device is completely hidden from view and consists of a ring which attaches to the inside of the rally cap, cables extending from said ring having washers at the other end. The cables are of sufficient length to permit the washers to be mounted on the wheel stud lugs while the ring is attached to the rally cap. After the washers are mounted then the rally cap is mounted on the wheel rim in conventional fashion, by frictional engagement. The cables remain nested within the cap and are not visible. If the rally cap is pried loose in an attempt to steal it, the cables will prevent the theft and the thief will not be able to remove the cap without finding out first how the cap is restrained and then obtaining a tool to release the cap. This effectively acts as a deterrent to casual thievery.
